Looks sweet! It was the optimus m that doesn't have 3g or flash player. I hope cricket gets this one. I'm jealous!

Just looked at the pics again and it even has"with Google" on it so its most def a nice phone. I can't believe you guys are getting this! Congrats. onward and upward!

Metro claims if your in a 3G coverage area, even though phone says 1x...you will still get 3G speeds since the phone supports it. I am referring to the Optimus M

Where did you hear it was coming to Metro? According to the specs, the phone is HSDPA. Metro's 4G network is LTE, and its 1x network is CDMA. So I do not think Metro is getting it. Plus, this phone costs more than $650 without a contract. Not even Verizon, Sprint, or AT&T are rumored to be getting this phone, so how could Metro be getting it? T-mobile is the only U.S. carrier rumored to be getting this phone. MetroPCS is not getting this phone.
 
The OPTIMUS 2X (T-Mobile) is not to be mistaken for other older model phones bearing the OPTIMUS name tag. VIRGIN WIRELESS has the OPTIMUS 'V' for $150.00, & OPTIMUS 'M' for METRO PCS.
After reading various reviews(C-NET,PHONE ARENA,PHONE SCOOP,etc...),the features available vary from carrier to carrier,BUYER BEWARE.Per C-NET,the METRO PCS version does not support FLASH content,lacks tethering, & lacks wi-fi hot spot capabilities.

A CDMA version of the OPTIMUS 2X would definitely be a welcomed addition to the METRO PCS/CRICKET line-up,as long as the pricing is somewhat reasonable.I myself wouldn't mind paying a bit more for a top-of-the-line phone in exchange for not being tied to a long-term service contract.

Hey there Kolio, sorry but there is only one version of the Optimus 2x. The Optimus M and Optimus V are not different versions of the Optimus 2x. The Optimus 2x is a totally different phone. It is the first phone with an Nvidia Tegra 2 Dual-core processor. And yes, it will be sweet if Metro or Cricket could snatch up that phone, but it is highly likely that they are not. It is just way way too high-end. If we can't even get a regular single core 1Ghz phone( besides a Galaxy S phone for Metro), I don't think that they will be offering a next generation highest of highend phones dual-core Tegra 2 phone, especially if the phone is not CDMA or EVDO-Rev A. I'm not trying to sound mean, but it is just plain out of this world.
 
I understand that the 2X is a totally different phone than the 'M' or 'V' models,I may have misspoke in my previous statement.Just stating to beware of the difference,some retailers will lead you to think you're getting one thing (2X) & end up selling you short.(M,V)

But,I agree that a METRO/CRICKET version will probably never see the light of day,though it would be nice to have the option on one of the bargain carriers.If the OPTIMUS 2X is coming to either carrier, I stand corrected.

I thought that was too good to be true. Jazziette did a side by side comparison with links to reviews between the ascend and optimus m on a separate thread. (can't remember which one)

You thought right. It is as of now the most powerful phone on the Market. How could Metro be getting it if not even U.S. Cellular, AT&T, Sprint, or Verizon are getting this phone. Plus, the phone's radio type doesn't match Metro's 4G or even 1x network. And why would they even bother changing the radio type on the most powerful phone just so Metro can have it? And yeah, I have seen the thread. If only the Optimus M had a bigger screen.

I don't even know why they would make a phone with froyo that doesn't support flash or 3g. (According to the reviews) Plus, most of the criticism of the ascend can be improved by tweaking by the user. As for the 2.5mm headset jack, yeah it sucks, but you can get adapters for less than $5. I'm not a fanboy, I can't wait till cricket gets something better, I'm just sayin'.
 
He stated that he ordered the OPTIMUS 'M', & only read of the OPTIMUS 2X being available in the future.

The major disadvantage for the Ascend against the Optimus M is the lack of a dedicated GPU. Other than that, the Ascend is a good phone for the money. I just installed the Icarus MOD on mine and my wife's Ascends over the weekend, and I can report that things run a LOT smoother, and Apps2SD is a HUGE addition. I had to ration myself before, and my wife was really hating the fact that apps were all installing to internal memory. I'm waiting on her to test her phone out and see what she thinks of the changes, because she complained that her phone was dog slow before.

I totally agree with you that Cricket/Metro won't get this beast. But...what doesn't make sense is why anyone would manufacture a phone that NONE of the above carriers will be getting. So who WILL carry it then? Something doesn't sound right here.

What is nearly equally confusing is the IDEOS X5 and X6. They were originally said to be heading to Cricket and now they are GSM. (Both are!)

Oh well...that's for another thread. :p

umm... I really do not know why you all are saying metro won't get it....google it and you will clearly see they ARE getting it sometime in the future....I never said anything about Cricket.
