May Be Switching To Optimus M

What is nearly equally confusing is the IDEOS X5 and X6. They were originally said to be heading to Cricket and now they are GSM. (Both are!)

They made it for European and Asian markets. T-Mobile is getting it here. The X5 and X6 are a different story. They are cheaply manufactured not as high end phones from a Chinese manufacturer. They could care to make changes to the cellular antennae.

Me neither NY, but I DID Google it. There is no clear statement about Metro getting it. It is only in the article tags. Can you prove it please?

Not sure I am interpreting your post correctly. Are you saying that Chinese made phones are cheaply manufactured or that high end phones are made in China. LOL

Heck...I thought they were ALL Made in China!!! And just distributed through other countries.

No, not all phones are made in China, but a good chunk are. And it is the first interpretation.

Yeah...but you know that almost ALL cell phones really are made in China and have the other manufacturer's brand names on them.

I'm not sure but I think that LG is really made in China. Pretty positive it is.

Do you ever spend any time reading the Huawei.com website? It's amazing how intertwined all these cell phone companies and manufacturers are.

Its Korean. Huawei provides the antennae module

Yes, tracking down everything is complicated. LG manufactures and assembles their products in Korean factories, but they get their networking solutions from Huawei. This is why Huawei unveiled the first HSPA phone, even though they are supposed to be the cheap manufacturer, since Huawei's specialty is in networking, hence the first HSPA phone
 
All the research I did on the pone does not lead me to believe its worth upgrading when it hits cricket..Its battery life is rated even worse than the Ascend.

I'm sure the Optimus M is a great phone! My first touchscreen phone (before Smart Phones) was an LG Dare and I still love that phone! It had a fantastic camera and sound quality that was far above average. LG makes a really great product.

I'm totally hung up on this ascend right now, however. LOL

I honestly don't know what I'll do if Cricket doesn't get the IDEOS X5. What I really want is the X6 and I'm willing to wait a few months for it cause I have my Ascend doing everything I want it to do now.

I played around with my friend's Samsung Fascinate over the weekend and it made me really really jealous! hahaha

But the thing is....his was just so plain vanilla cause he doesn't know how to customize and all the fun things we do.

He was like "Root? What's that?" LOL

So .... even with the extra speed and crispness it was...boring. Yeah...boring!

hehehe

Our phones are fun cause we make them fun!!!

Yea, you are right, I was comparing the wrong phone. Still, I am gonna stick with the Ascend I think. Until cricket goes 4g and they get 4g rated phones.

Yeah I feel you.. I am going to be sticking with the Optimus M for a while, until a nice 4G Android releases that I may really really want. My Optimus M will be arriving tomorrow :) Probably in the morning as that is when FedEx came wit my moms new phone. He came around 10am, and woke me up. =D.

I am getting excited :)

Radio shack. Make sure the end will fit into the recessed area around the jack or it won't go in all the way and it will only play through one side. I bought one at meijer and had that problem. Also make sure it's a stereo one apparently some are mono only.
 
I don't know about lg, but I know motorola droids are made in china. It says" Made in china" on the box.

(Or at least they did...until Huawei slapped a lawsuit on Moto for IP theft!!! LOL)

Yeah I read about that in the wall street journal. It seems like they are all suing each other for stealing trade secrets.

Yeah and the Senate is trying to prevent Huawei from selling their smart phones over here because they say it's a security threat! :p

Puhhhhhhhlllleeeeeeeeeeeze!!!!

They should all be dressed up in Nascar type outfits...with those 'sponsored by Motorola' decals on them.

But i still plan on keeping both. The Ascend has a special place in my heart <3 lol

how is you're experience with the flashed droid? A guy has a droid x on cl around here he says is fully flashed to cricket. Is it worth the hassle? Does everything work? I've never had a flashed phone before, let alone a smartphone.
