Root Creating a boot animation, start to finish.

Yeah that what I did I first wiped cache and than delvik and than data. And I had to battery pull to restart and when I did it was staying lopped at the end of the boot animation. Whats beastinbolts talking about what zip.

But I remeber when I installed this yesturday I wiped the data and both caches to install the rom so thats what Iam going to to next. There isnt anything else I can do from this step. I also got stuck in boot animation yesturday when I tried to not wipe anything but that didnt work. I had to wipe evertyhing.

Bolts I first tried to wipe the two caches and restarted my phone and I checked to see if it fixed this error I was getting. It did not work. I could not go into sound setting it would give me the error. So what did I do next wipe data. Than when I did this it got stuck on the boot animation. There fore the only thing I can do now is reinstall the rom like I did yestruday correct. Thats the only option left.

So your saying it should have only wiped the information on the rom and not the rom it self because its seems that after I wiped the data It is getting stuck in the boot animation. So reinstalling everything should be the right thing to do.
 
yeah that is what wiping data does. the only way to get rid of a rom is to flash another one. you can wipe all you want but you will still have your rom installed. so not sure why it is stuck on boot animation. how long are you waiting for it to boot? it should take 2-10 min.

ok so here is what you can try try using cualkin's format all (this wipes everything for you: data, cache, and dalvik cache). here it is: Calkulin's_FORMAT_ALL.zip. you just flash this like you would a rom. once that is done go ahead and re-flash the rom and restore your apps via tb.

So when I go to restore only apps and data freeze all the stuff from sprint. Do you know anything else I should freeze to make sure I dodnt get that error again. Yeah when I backed up my apps I think I did more than user apps if thats even possible. I wanted to make sure I got everything.

Wipe cache dalvic and factory reset a couple of times re flash your rom then. Restore user apps and data only. If u run a filter for that the batch restore

Like I said I did that. So why would I have to do a factory reset if all I did before installing the rom yesturday was data wipe. If I do a factory reset that will require that I would have to root again or no. Cause the understading that had from yesturday was to just wipe data both cache and re flash the rom which is what Iam going to do now.

Ok Cant I just reflash the same rom with the wipe data and both caches that I did already to make things easy. I dont think its nessary for me to do this when I already have done it manually to mention I cant get past the boot animation.
What its doing is just looping at the end of the animation for more than 5 minutes

So I have to reflash the rom.
 
it never hurts to wipe before flashing anything. it just takes a second. also caulkins format all is great at making sure you have a clean environment. for me i wipe cache and dalvik cache then flash caulkin's before i i flash my a rom.

OK now I have a problem I wiped both caches and the data. Reflashed the rom and it started up got to the boot animation went thgrough that fine than the black screen came up which takes a couple of minutes and thany you get into your new rom with the lock screen. Instead its just gets into a boot animation loop after the boot animation. So if I comeplelty wipe everything to factory reset that means I will loose root and Blots told me I needed some another things. Which I really dont want to do.

Or can I go back to my nandroid back up with CW 2.6.0.1 and than restart from there like I did yesturday and reinstall Amon Ra. This is really making angry right now I dont understand why its getting into this boot animation loop after the boot animation. All from just wipping the data which is suppose to just wipe the data and keep the rom.

Udate I did a factory reset that finally worked no more boot animation looping and I found out it doesnt effect your root. So now I should be fine. If I dont have Titanuim back up pro than do I not have the ability to freeze.

Factory reset will not in so rooting your phone......yes you have to really flash the rom because it has a whole bunch of files in there now from when u used titanium back up and restored all the system data.......it wont be stable any more......WIPE CACHE AND DELVIC AND FACTORY THEN REFLASH YOUR ROM

Thank bolts already did that and Back up and running again. I was just asking if I dont have Titanium back up pro I have the freezing ability so I dont have this problem again with the Android. error.
And my wifi and all my radios should be fine right. I am also going to get all my setting and setup my phone before restoruing with titanum back up and make a nandroid back up with Amon ra.
 
ok glad that you have it up and running. i would recommend the pro version of tb. and that is a good idea to make a nandroid as well. nandroids are your friend.

I seriously dont have the money for that right now Iam poor lol. But can I not freeze with the regular version. Because it said the pro has batch ability even though the regular one I was able to restore through batch.

So rename the ones you don't like to appwhatever.bak nandroid first

I didnt find it system app only the system apps from the new CM7 Rom. I also looked in data/app and nothing there. This sucks cause as of right Now I would have to reinstall these manually and without data.

what on gods green earth would posess one to want to keep the bloatware apps to begin with? i guess to each their own lol perhaps a lil reluctant to give in to full root.... sounds like youre on the right track evosickness, since youre in the AOSP territory, id suggest amon as well. it seems like everyone that ive ever seen discussing them think that its better than cw. I wonder why unrEVOked doesnt hire that guy or something lol having to scroll thru a buncha crap every time you want to confirm a command is annoying to say the least! i forgot that you hafta do that in cw cuz i havent used it in so long lol

Yeah I already downloaded Amon Ra and it worked perfect no problems what so ever.

thats cuz the cm7 overwrote the apps youre looking for. use titanium backup to restore your apps and data (provided you backed them up before installing cm7, and even if you didnt, you can make a nandroid of cm7, restore the old o.s., back them up in TiB, restore to cm7 then use TiB to then restore yo stuff)
