Root GPS fails on Cyanogenmod 7.0.3.1!!

And the problem is I cant uninstall the vvm now. It works fine but is interfering with the the youtube app. Is there a way to uninstall the update.

Ok now Iam thinking about when I went back to the sense rom to try the gps fix and did the nandriod backup of my cm7 I have now. When I first installed Cm7 I did flashed both gapps that came with the zip file of my Cm7 would those two gapps files have been saved in the nandriod or not.

Iam asking because I just checked my system files and went into apps and youtube and car and home are not there. But if that were the case wouldnt it mean there would be other apps that would have thw icon disapear just like the youtube and carhome app. The crazy thing is they disapeared when I installed the vvm fix.

Short of reinstalling the rom not to sure u can....I got u tube on mine ands not buggy at all...have u tried flashing the normal gapps file

Thats what Iam saying that I did install the gapps files when I installed the rom the first time. And they worked fine. What Iam asking is weather or not the nandriod backs those gapps in the system up if it doesnt I know I know I will have to install them again. I will flash them judt dont want be flashing them again and than they mightberase the vvm just the vvm erased them.

when u do a nandroid it takes a snap shot of what ever you cheack.. select the first three if you like you can back up your cache(this will just allow for a quicker boot up if your restore to this nandroid,, you can click wimax.. if you like i check it every time.. and the rest I never back up....... with the first three it will save any apps you have installed or not

Rember I cant make a nandriod until I get a Sd card which I havent yet. I was just asking about the nandroid because than that means this vvm fix zip is what messd up my gapps some how. So I dont know if installing the gapps over isnt going to mess things up more. But not understanding why It wont let me run the app if its from the market. And you installed the fix for vvm and didnt have this problem right.

the only thing that i can see is that the vvm gapps does not have the apk for car home and you tube. i compared it to other gapps files and i see car home but i do not see youtube. my suggestion is to first make a nandroid then restore and go to a nandroid(if you have one) that has both you tube and car home and backup with titanium backup. then restore your nandroid you just made and restore youtube and car home via tb.

Whats up Ocean well I if you read the above posts you see whats been going on. I tried to just download the youtube app from the market it did but when I went to go open it gave me an android error and force close everytime.

I cant do a nandroid until I have got the money to get the 32 gig. So at the moment Bolts was telling me to re install the gapps. I know what your telling me to do is back up than do this and go back to the nandroid I Just made.I did look inside the zip and also saw there wasnt a Youtube app or car home app.

My question is this.
If I had installed the gapps and they were on my CM7 and than I installed the vvm fix which takes up space on my internal memory which I saw go from 87 to 83mb. Wont me installing the gapps with youtube and car home mess things up futher. I mean installing this vvm fix shoudl have not uninstalled the gapps that I installed when I flashed the rom. But thats why Iam not understanding since youtube is an app for any rom on android why is it having this problem when I install it from the market. Is it installing from gapps the same thing just in a pakage getting more apps at once.

I really didnt want to install this since it going to keep on taking up space that I already used up once when I installed them in the first. Place and I tried unistalling the vvm app and told me it cant uninstall updates.

i would just start over and wipe and then wipe some more then re-flash cm7.

After everything I have gone through I really dont want to do that. And what do I have to do besides download the busy box latest version to get Titanium back up pro Batch to work. I am trying to save all the apps and settings that are on my CM7 with the 2gig SD Card but when I go to batch and click run back up all apps and ststem data it just takes me back to the screen where all my apps are.

Will TB save all my settings in CM7 like a nandroid would. I know it wont have all the apps where I placed them but will have all the CM7 system settings and main system setting saved right.

it should save system data which is where your settings are in. just be careful especially if you are going to switch roms. different roms will not like the system data of another rom. it could create a lot of errors.

not sure why tb is doing that. you can try and clear cache for it. go into phone settings/applications/manage applications/clear cache. or you can try unistalling it then reinstalling it.

Tried clear cache same thing. And than when I went to unistall I dont have that option since its a system app. And says its TB pro but its not even working.

well then i'm not sure because in my phone i can just unistall it by going to manage applications in phone settings and i can just uninstall it from there. maybe you can try root explorer or es file manager to delete it. then download tb again from the market.

Ok uninstalled it with root explorer. I first made a copy of it on my downloads. And its a good thing because when I went to the market. Its said that the market download was not compatible. So I reinstalled the one I saved and now its is backing up all my apps and system data.

Udate just rebooted and now have the applicatopn Titanium backup process com.keramidas.titanium backup has stopped unexpectedly please try again
Error.
This is really fruststating

I just went a head an uninstalled it now. And Iam going to try to reinstall from the market.

try wiping cache and dalvik cache

I was going to do that now since Iam going to try and reinstall the gapps with youtube and car and home.

Whats crazy is that now I was ale to un install it from manage applications and was able to download the one from the market.

Ok now the crazyness is getting crazier. Rember how youtube didnt want to downlaod. I just downloaded it with no problem. I think the problem was the version of Titanium back up that I had that came with this CM7 that I downloaded. Question Ocean what version of CM7 do you have.

i was on cm7.0.2.1 and had no issues. right now i'm back to kings unleashed gb r3 and it is based on cm7.0.0

What were the reason why you switched.

See what Iam trying to figure out is where my 5mb of internal space. Went when I installed the vvm gapps my youtube and car home were gone but the memory never got put back so. Now Iam trying to find those using root explorer. Because now Iam at 79mb of internal space when I can be at 85 at least.
Any suggetions where I could maybe find the apps from the gapp pakages I installed before the vvm. Becuase I looked that one and it had allot of other fies than just the vvm. Would those get overwritten or be packed ontop already same ones that I could have had from the gapps I installed.

i after being on cm7 for a few weeks i loved it. but i went back to my nandroid of kings version of cm7, i realized just how more zippy the rom is compared to cm7. i love kings roms that are just so fast and smooth. yeah i have no idea what is going on with your youtube app and your issues with vvm and gps. maybe you should try kings rom.

I really just got used to CM7 and loving it. But this issues Iam having really dont have anything to do with the rom. I just started having this problem when I installed the vvm fix which also had the gps fix but didnt work.

I just deleted the titanium back up I did with the one the came with CM7 and made a new one with market one.

So last question cuz you having been helping me out for while now. When you install a zip pakage with all different files like the ones that came with the vvm do they re write ones that were the same or do they save on top.

I thought I knew where the missing mbs went. I rember now couple days ago before I installed the vvm fix I had loaded a new boot animation and just renamed it and kept in the system media files. Now I looked at the size of it said 15.05mb. I deleted it and rebooted. Checked my internal storage and it only went up from 79 to 80 that doesnt add up.

it depends on how and what they are. some mods will change one thing and then break another thing. it depends really on the file as well. i think with gapps i just adds and replaces google apps. it is not adding to internal memory.
