Since I have not been on cm7 in awhile, can anyone tell me if Android OC works? With no battery drain etc? What about the disabling of ads?

I've been using and its been working great. I think the host file it uses need updated tho as I see some ads in some apps, but not all.

battery drain I haven't noticed any more drainage than not oc'd.
 
Forgot how bad battery life is with this ROM. Lol. Will see how it is in a few days. Looks like its time for .596 rooted soon. Or maybe I will just wait for my next adventure which should be here this week. ;)

Ur telling me....it sucks. lol
Currently 9hrs and 17 min and im at 7%...thats with an extended battery and light use all day.
Im gonna see it it gets better with use.
Im also gonna undervolt it and apply isyn tweaks....FINGERS CROSSED!!!

I have thrown everything I can at CM7 to try and get a full day of use out of it and I can't. I got it undervolted, juiced, supercharged, screen dim, etc. and can only get a few hours with heavy use (less than 10 with minimal use). Way way less than with Blur. I am really wondering if there is not some moto process that was in blur that the phone is expecting to run to control something (i know: i can't be any more vague than that). Since that "something" is not being controlled by the software, it is just constantly running. I am out of ideas and really don't want to go back to blur. I love CM7 but this charging every few hours almost makes it worth it.

on avg I get about 12hrs with light use and seen as high as 24hrs with light to moderate use. I am sure cvpcs and crew will figure it out and get it fixed.
 
i got about 12 hrs use, 8 of which was spent on airplane mode... so yeah not a whole lot with cm7, but with imoseyen tweaks it ran fine, even done the battery calibration. but right now im on omfgb so cant attest to it for cm7 as i barely keep a rom on my phone for more than a few weeks

i am a rom whore, i will flash the few that are out a few times a month...except justice, cause its basically cm7 with a different name.
 
I'm beginning to be over these cm7 based ROMs. AOSP GB ones overclocked have felt nearly as smooth, and the battery can last a hell of a lot longer. The customization will be missed, but available themes still look good enough.
 
you have to at least give credit to where its due, we had the ability at these roms because of cvpcs utilizing the 2init process that was found a long time ago by someone i cannot think of yet. without cvpcs we wouldnt even be here right now, we would still have apex and liberty, and that would possibly be it.
 
right now i think omfgb suits me just fine
if i have to say another rom
it would be miui just because its stable, no bugs i can really remember
then ssx because its so snappy

The only ones I haven't tried are MIUI, OMFGB and Justice from that list. I will most likely try out OMFGB, but not the other two.

I've seen screenshots of it and it just doesn't do anything for me. And it seems like it has too many settings for doing this and that, from what I've been reading it's overly complex with settings and such that aren't really necessary............gimmicky.......iPhone like if you ask me.

But I haven't tried it myself so I don't know exactly how true that is. Still, it just doesn't tickle me enough in the right place to want to try it ;)

That's one of the reasons I've only posted a few times in that thread, it just doesn't interest me.
 
Yeah, I've stayed on .21 with the .07 radio.

Bouchigo, it's far from "complex." The menus are organized, and once you set things up, you don't need to ever go through most of the menu items. It's easy to customize every bit individually to your liking (notification bar, lockscreen, desktop, messaging app, etc.).
