Ok first want to say thanks to this forum/everyone for all your helpful advice. I've learned so much just from reading all the info. available here. This forum rocks. :)

Have a couple questions. I rooted my LG Opt M, and finally on Sunday went through all necessary steps to install the Joneidy Sense Rom. Have to say love, love the effects.

But I have been having constant reboots with my phone since installing. Last nite it just kept rebooting and looping until I was able to finally get into recovery and wipe/reflash a newly downloaded Joneidy Sense Rom. Also, since yesterday I have installed and flashed this ROM about 5xs because of the rebooting issue. Seems anytime I go to change something in settings, access a file, go to Market, etc. it will reboot. I've searched and read alot but really am at a loss as to what step to take next. Should I factory reset this time and download Rom again and do it over. Not sure?? Also, is the factory reset in the Joneidy Recovery Menu or should I use Factory reset in settings?? If someone would be so kind as to give me some advice. Sorry for the noob question or if not correct place, but didn't know where would best to post. Thanks in advance for any advice (would really like to get my phone working right).:o

wow ok its not just me... since iv flashed this rom its been non stop reboots.. excessive to the point where i dont even like to open apps anymore cuz i know its going to reboot.. most of my apps freeze up or don't load fully before it reboots..
i thought maybe cuz i didn't partition it.. so i did.. same thing.. iv flashed this update now about 13 times. out of frustration.. thinking maybe i did something wrong.. but i don't know?.. i wipe everything totally even reformatted the sd.. glad im not alone:confused:

I have downloaded the zip and put it on my SD card to flash. And I'm in recovery, trying to flash it from zip from my sd card, but it goes to install and when it gets to the "Installing update..." portion, it says

"E:Can't find update script

Installation aborted."

Please help me fix this. I'm using getitnowmarketing's recovery system. Is that the problem? Please help me. I was able to install joneidy's gingerlike rom with this recovery without a problem and am currently using that. I am running rooted 2.2 and I would really love to have this sense rom.

Thank you for your time,
Jamablama

No you're not alone LoL. I've reflashed with wiping all except sd_card about 5-6xs since last nite. When I posted this, it was late and I was tired so not sure if I phrased my questions right. This morning had 3 reboots, BUT since this afternoon have been using my phone (more consistently) doing different things to see if it restarts and it has been much better only restarting once and Force Close at Market. At first it was rebooting/restarting if I went main settings or ADW settings or to Market. So overall my phone is doing little better. If it reboots again by this evening I will redownload, wipe again and flash one more time.

Sorry to hear you've had so many problems also - geesh 13xs, I'd be frustrated too. Have to admit, last nite and this morning was hesitant to work with my phone for fear of this rebooting.

Playnex, another poster here, has been kind enough to help me a bit since he went through similar also. Says it took him about a month (I'm sure with redownloading/flashing ROM) until now his phone with the Sense ROM is working great so I'm hoping I'm on my way. I don't think sd card has to be partitioned (I didn't partition mine). Was told not necessary, unless you want. Hopefully you can get your's remedied soon. Please keep me posted if you can and I'll do same.

And also have to say, I love, love this ROM (my first:o), the effects:cool:, smoothness and all - don't want to sound like I'm just complaining; Kudos and thanks to Joneidy and all the developers that put all their hard work. Im seriously in awe:) :) And I'm also learning and enjoying (most of) it, thanks to you and this forum.

Edited to say: Thanks to "you a/k/a Joneidy and developers"

Sounds like a bad zip file. Try downloading again. You could also try other browser. I use Google Chrome or Firefox and never have problems.

if i wanted to rom my lg optimus m for metropcs

what are some of the things that occurs after i "accomplish" putting the rom, does it save more internal memory? or use it up more?

and what requirements should i meet before putting the rom and

what maybe some of the consequences

and yes i'm a total noob

Only thing i've done so far is rooted my phone, removed metro bloat ware and made my phone a wee bit fast with "set cpu"

Hi and welcome :). Not sure if you've already read through linked thread below, but it has some very good pointers on rooting and roms etc. and may be able to answer some of your questions.

Edited to add: This thread also (among the linked thread above) has some good suggestions :)

Im looking for a clear status bar zip file to flash. Google's first result was this thread. I looked and couldn't find it. So I'm wondering if someone could repost a link for it.

or just crack open framework-res.apk via 7zip, go into res\drawable-mdpi, and find the status bar background image. I forget the filename, but that's where it's at. make a copy of that image, open it in an image editor that can accommodate transparency, and just erase the whole thing and save it, then copy it back into the original directory to replace the original one, and flash framework. You can flash it using one of the framework-res theme zips from UOT.

note: when you look at the saved clear image, in a folder in windows it may look black. don't worry, it really is clear. I cleared out white dots so I could see the full color of lock pattern buttons on my phone, worked fine. Just consider when it's clear, you'll need status bar icons that will still be visible/legible with your chosen wallpaper. Rather, you'll need to use a wallpaper that won't make your status bar icons hard to see lol.

well on the stock ROM and the CM7 ROM, I don't have to press download, the media just appears the very first time I open the message. I can't even send pic messages. It says sending infinitely .

Yup mines has the same big download button, but in a matter of seconds it downloads then the picture shows up, but in order to see the picture I have to save it to the sd card.

on mine when I press download it says downloading indefinitely, nothing else happens. Is there no way to fix this?

So I just got the sense rom for my lg optimus m, (thanks to new optimus for helping me with the countless hours) but I realize its kind of laggy. Also when I put my phone to charger, it goes heywire!

Please help

First, please explain what you mean by haywire. Now, to deal with the lag issue, the sense rom comes with the oc kernel so just install set cpu and figure out where your phone is stable, overclocking will rid you of the lag, although I find it odd you would notice much lag with a clean install. If you need help with set cpu or over clocking in general I will help no problem.

Set cpu is an app that allows you to "make your phone faster" it is available for free by signing up @ xda forums but I suggest a small donation @ some point in time. If you are unsure of how to overclock there is a tutorial in the subforum
