I dunno if it's me or what.....but the past few days my Incredible has been acting very wierd and laggy. Not sure if i'm imagining it or if it could be something with the upcoming update. The update to Froyo was too far back for me to remember if it acted the same way then or not. Anyone else notice this or is it just my warped mind?.....lol.

I noticed in my ti backup there are field test programs for 2.1 and 2.2... maybe those are installed prior to an update and gunk up the works for a while?

Just a shot in the dark.

Not to interrupt this dazzling conversation, haha, but I just want to make sure that I am not making a mistake. So, quickly:

-I installed a ROM for about 5 minutes, then Clockwork Recovered back to my stock HTC Froyo, with bloat manually uninstalled. I then flashed the stock HTC Froyo Recovery Image from Doug Piston.

-I'm gonna be fine for the OTA, right? Like I said, I want the thrill of the installation, but I'm not gonna wait for days just to find out that I can't OTA.

-Just to be clear, I did not un-root my phone, and I did not flash the Froyo RUU. JUST the stock recovery image.

The Gingerbread update killed the battery performance on my Atrix. It's a widespread problem with the Android update if you sync email to an Exchange server. I'm very happy to report that I've resolved it by removing the Exchange server from the stock mail app, and by using Nitrodesk's excellent Touchdown app for mail instead.

I was sharing my beer with whoever said they had popcorn. (I guess I drank enough to forget who it was!)
Awww... how could you forget me? After all we've been through.

Still waiting for the "I want my Froyo back" posts...

OT: Ordered an Inc 2 for my wifey to replace her Eris, it should be here today. Anyone know what the Inc 2 is shipping with these days? Froyo or Gingerbread?

So sorry!! (Told ya I drank too much)

They are shipping with both - I've seen people get it with and without GB.

I got not OTA update but that's probably because I'm running a Skyraider ROM. Now, I have absolutely no issues at all with this ROM. It's been stable. It's been reliable. It's running Froyo. Is there anything in this GB update that I absolutely want? I don't see why I even want this update given that I'm thrilled with what I have.

I feel the same way about my Magnolia. If the dev does an update I might try it but there's a good chance I won't run GB on a daily basis until I get a new phone

If they "missed" the bug mentioned in this thread, they are going to have a huge problem with apps on SD for everyone. Could they really have missed something this big? Geez, that would be shocking!

(Short bug description: GB mounts .android_secure from internal, not SD card, so apps moved to SD card will be in a different spot after upgrade than before...they better have dealt with that in an upgrade script or....)

I know that VZW is very sneaky with their updates but it is eerily quiet on their end. Droid2 update is officially announced and we even had a tweet about the DInc update on VZW's first attempt.

Hopefully they ramp up the update cause my thumb is starting to hurt from checking for the update and my wife wants to kill me everytime I check my phone and say Gingerbread. LOL :D

Would not be good if this happens. Could be a major debacle. Let's hope the few disappearing apps threads so far are more related to the shortcomings of OTA updates and not an indication that the bug persists.
