Root [ROM] Mik3D - RC1- [10/31/2011]

Hi guys. I have Mik3d beta 1 and golden monkey 1.1. I can't get hdmwin to do hdmi mirroring. It says enabled but nothing shows. Not even slideshows from the gallery... Mostly want this to play netflix to my tv .... How do I get this to work?

I believe only Chop Suey 9.2.7 supports HDMI and I believe it is still in testing but available to download and try. I believe you can find the link to it here

If I switch will my phone run diff? I have it overclocked to 1152?

Kernels react differently on different phones. You should have no problem overclocking to 1152....most Evos will handle that with out issue. Higher than that and some will random reboot. I would just make a nandroid backup, wipe cache and dalvik-cache and flash the kernel. Reboot the phone and see how it is. Then you can try the HDMI and see if it is working or still buggy. It is a test kernel for that but might be functional.

I now get sound playing through the tv.. no video. I uninstalled and tried these one by one. HDMWIN... Only audio from videos only in gallery. Fullhdmi evo .... Nothing. Says cable is unplugged... Stock with no app... Still only audio. No pictures come through.

Edit....

Ok I uninstall HDMWIN and I now have full screen hdmi.... Now I have no sound..... I cant find a setting ?

quick question, isnt mobile data suppose to turn off whenever you turn on wifi. im running the MiK 3D rom and when i turn on wifi and go to quick settings under the notifications, mobile data is still checked as is wifi, should that be like that? i did notice when i do turn on wifi the 3g icon does disappear and then return when i turn wifi off?

It is supposed to be checked so that way when wifi is not available it will go back to 3G. It is just in standby mode as of now.

I think I saw that one time too, but wifi does work. A bug!

Wonder if the Mik fellow knows about it?

edit: uh, maybe not? :)

in most roms if you have wifi setup then it will use that when in range and will turn off 3g by default. mobile will still be checked but it is your wifi that is running not mobile.

I flashed this last night from MikG 2.51 and enjoyed it a lot. It seemed really snappy in its responses.

However, since I had JUST gotten MikG 2.51 set up the way I wanted to I decided to flash back and wait for the RC.

Overall I'd highly recommend it.

Yesterday morning when I woke up I noticed that I had text and email messages on my phone but I never heard the notification sounds go off. Since then each time I receive a text or email I do not ever get any sounds notification like I am supposed to. All the volumes are up to the max. When I went in to check my settings for email, text, and phone ringer there are no sounds listed at all. None for notifications or ringers. I only had the stock sounds on my phone but now they are gone. There have not been any changes to the configuration to my phone, no new apps etc. They just disappeared. I can restore my latest nandroid and no big deal but I am curious as to why and what happened. Does anyone know where the sound files are stored? I am curious to see if the files have been deleted or not. Anyone else experience this?

And of course I wiped cache and Dalvik cache several times :)

Try a simple reboot OR boot to recovery and wipe cache and dalvik cache, then reboot

Yes the speaker works fine. There is not any options for me to even choose which sound for notifications or ringers in settings. The list is empty.

Might try and flash the rom over your current setup. It should only replace the system files and leave you data and settings alone.

Do you think flashing a new kernel would do any good or just reflash the rom?

The settings will be in the rom itself. I don't think a kernel would affect it. I would just wipe cache and dalvik-cache and flash the rom over your current setup. It should restore any missing/corrupt system files.

I will give that a go here after bit.

I have noticed another issue, not sure if they are related or not. When using the Gallery it cannot find any photos, like the SD card is not mounted. When I go to Music it says to insert a SD card. The weird thing is I can use ES File Explorer to browse the SD card just fine, I can open music and photos from there. In Settings I can mount and Unmount the SD card fine, it shows the correct info about free/used space etc. I can mount the card with my PC fine. So far other apps that use the SD card work ok. Strange!!!
