***Official Galaxy Nexus Pre-Release speculation thread**

Had a quick, kinda off topic question. Does anyone know if VZW is still honoring 1-year upgrades if it became available before they discontinued them? The website doesn't attribute it, but I thought they would.

This thread moves fast! But yes, they are. I got my last 1 year upgrade available this month. :D And mine wasn't even available before the discontinue, just that the 2 years *started* before the discontinue. But my upgrade shows on my Verizon account online.

Hmm... that's weird mine isn't showing up. I upgraded last on the release of the Incredible, which was either May or June of 2010... thus I assume my 1-year upgrade would be available around that time. I was granted a special "early upgrade" because it was my first android phone, but my actual yearly upgrade was available soon after that.

Waiting until 12/29 wont kill me, but I have a crack in my Incredible glass and was going to try and replace it, but wanted to wait until I at least have the option of purchasing a new phone in case I mess up.

Droidfan, can you tell us anything about specs? Exact screen size, TouchWiz, bloatware, etc?

Edit: This does make sense. My sister said they're shooting for the 17th.

well even the leaked roadmap which we got a while ago stated that release dates were on week 48. . which fall in between November 28, 2011 December 4, 2011

I wouldn't be surprised if it was much earlier than that, or even later than that. . .the good thing is that it's coming

I have my doubts about the 24th. That's Thanksgiving. Are Verizon stores open on Thanksgiving? The 25th is Black Friday, correct?

Sounds like you are on an individual plan but in the off chance you are not, the 1 year upgrade only applies to the primary line. They allowed me to update my incredible as of May but there is a small catch. They still have the loyalty program still active this year. If I take the upgrade now, I lose the loyalty program. If I wait till December, I not only get to upgrade but I get 100 dollars off. I think you will at least get the 100 bucks off if you wait as well.

Ill NEVER buy an HTC product.

I'm not brand loyal but they are one brand I will never purchase.

I don't like HTC either mainly due to their poor battery life. None of my friends with Incredible, Evo, Tbolt is happy about battery life. Call quality seems mediocre too. But they seem to have got better screen, camera than Moto. So I will only consider HTC if they address the power management issue.

Not sure how good their battery life is in Evo3D that has the same S3 snapdragon as Vigor at lower 1.2Ghz, but I'm pretty sure Vigor will be worse than Bionic in battery life with faster clock, HD screen, 1st gen Qualcomm LTE. But Vigor forum seems to have gotten some buzz as its rumored launch is just a month away.

You know, my Incredible was crappy on battery life. I was a first adopter and by this past Feb, I had bought a second battery. I was changing batteries at lunchtime at work (I'm generally out the door at 6am every morning) because I couldn't keep up with charging and was dipping below 20% by noon. I finally rooted and went with CM7 and never needed my spare battery again (I actually rotated on occasion for a quick refill) as I could go a good 12+ hours and still have 1/3 of my battery left with typical daily usage. I honestly believe that HTC's battery management with Sense is horrible. Thought it was a hardware thing, but clearly not if a custom ROM ran that much better. I can honestly say that at least Samsung got it right with their stock build. Rooting allows you to customize but generally doesn't buy you much better battery life because it's already good (relatively, of course).

I really, really hope that 11/17 is the date. My sister's info, plus this guy's email yesterday, point to it. I just don't want to keep waiting into December. I think if Black Friday comes and Prime isn't out yet, I'll be pretty upset. . .

Summer, it was nice seeing you this year, now get the hell outta here!!!

well, as I stated before, I can't wait much longer and 11/17 might be too far out. My X seems to be getting worse by the week. Along with the crack going across the middle, the little plastic piece where the microphone is VERY loose now. I'm guessing its all gonna come down to when I finally drop it and drop it good enough lol

We shall see... :p

And it's very doubtful that we'll see the Note in the States any time soon. And it doesn't appear to support LTE.

If it ever did come, though, I doubt I'd get it. Prime seems to be a killer phone, and if I need anything over 5", I'll just get another iPad or something.
