Here's the pic with the brightness turned up. Doesn't look plasticky like other Samsung phones.

While that is one sexy phone, I am sure the curve will take me a bit to get used too. Also, with it being that thin, who thinks this will come with the new 4212 Exnyos processor in it? I am hoping hoping hoping...and CK is the only one who can't answer this... :~) Just kidding CK, I like your reality in this thread of dreams....
Thanks for the clarification. I remember the International SGS, the Vibrant and the Captivate and the Nexus S don't have LEDThe Sprint version of the SGS2 does indeed have an indicator LED.
haha XDOoooo, that stinks!
That stinks a lot less!!
ok, i'll be the buzzkill. no way, no how will this have the new Exynos chip. they haven't even started sampling those chips (or maybe just started). this phone was designed for a different chip long before the new Exynos came about.
I wouldn't dismiss it. That's second source verification. Hubby and I have been married 10 years this month...it would make an awesome anniversary gift!New link along the same lines. Nothing groundbreaking but worth noting.
Rumor: Samsung Prime Launching at Verizon October 27? - Droid Life: A Droid Community Blog
Let's say that Verizon's version is not Nexus. Be it different from the actual Nexus, or same specs just not Nexus. What carrier is mostly rumored to get the actual Nexus device? Are there any rumors indicating a different carrier? All I seem to hear about with this device is big red.
The general feeling, based on rumors by people in the know (Phil at AC, black_man_x, P3Droid, Kellex, etc.) is that the very first ICS device will debut on Verizon first, and then will go to other carriers later. This makes sense given that Verizon passed on the SGS II.
Will it be a true Nexus (no bloat, no TouchWiz overlay, and direct updates from Google)? We suspect it will be, but we're not sure.
But I think that Verizon WILL be getting the first ICS device, and I think that what Samsung gave us a glimpse of last night is it.
I don't see how the Oct 27th date is viable. I would think that Google would have to have their dog and pony show for ICS and then the phone would follow. I thought the rumors have Google showing off ICS at the end of October. Has Google ever released a device with a new OS version before they show it off?
They'll be showing it off on Oct. 11.
The event is touting "See what's next from Android" and the Google logo is before the Samsung logo on the end graphic.
It appears that it will be an ICS and Nexus reveal at the same time.
I hope the force is strong with you on this one. But doesn't Google usually have something on their own to announce a new big release of Android? I would think they would want all the focus on it instead of being part of a lot of different announcements going on that day.
This.
Of all the rumors surrounding this, this is one that really stands out to me. Samsung just announces a chip that they are about to start testing and suddenly it winds up in their device rumored to launch this month/next month? No way. I would not say impossible, but I also wouldn't say telepathy is impossible.
Isn't the perfect combination, The Nexus Prime and LTE. Nexus Prime and Verizon LTE make for a better phone. That's what I (as a verizon customer) see in the samsung promo.
I took it to mean ICS + Samsung = perfect phone, especially because the Google logo was at the end.
I could be wrong, but I don't think the Google logo was on the announcement for IFA.
Thanks for the welcomes
I have just had a look at the Samsung Note, and must say, I am tempted. Aside from ICS and the presumably vanilla experience, can anyone tell me what are the advantages, from what we 'know' so far, of the Prime vs the Note? Is the Note going to receive ICS? I'm presuming so, as it's a new product?
Thanks, and sorry if this is covered elsewhere, I haven't had time to read all 58 pages, just the last 20 or so!
