P3Droid:
Any says prime is delayed till next year just tell them to stfu...they are full of it.

And:
Yeah November is not a delay..if a blog ir website says prime is delayed tell them to stfu as well. Its all bs...

Could you explain me what does it mean? I just don't understand it - these two words "stfu", and "bs".
stfu -- a request for serenity and compliance
bs -- an assessment of diminished quality, value, or integrity

Mods: clean enough?

I say yes UNLESS they are using the 2nd gen LTE radio (highly unlikely at this time) or this other chip/radio (forgot the name of it) that is smaller and more efficient.

Samsung is going to snatch them up. I'm mobile right now and cannot remember where I saw the article but it essentially said that it would be ready for sampling in Q3

Qualcomm News and Events - Press Releases Qualcomm Introduces 28nm Mass Market LTE/DC-HSPA+ Chipsets for Mobile Broadband Products

Good morning Primers & Primettes!

Haven't seen THIS posted yet, so forgive me if it's a repeat. From Black_man_x on Twitter:

"...and keyboard device is not nexus..."

SO I think we can safely put that one to bed.

Like I said earlier. The curvature is not as extreme as it appears. The two tone paint job of black and silver coupled with the way they "tapered" the colors in some areas make it look more extreme.

I understand that some people are hesitant to be positive due to being burned by Verizon several times in the past, but WHY do some users (not mentioning names) insist on being NEGATIVE?

Taking rumors with bated breath is smart, you don't have to embrace them, but why go out of your way to knock or even discredit them? It sounds like some of you don't want anything good to come out of this release.

The iPhone and OG Droid were both vanilla.

Well looking at your post above about how the Cellebrite photos have been shopped before, I think you are just being extremely negative.

Again, it's one thing to be cautious about being optimistic but remaining hopeful, and a completely different thing to view every possible "good news" as being fake or the non-Verizon version. Maybe you should just switch carriers if you are so unhappy with their service?

I don't thing it is fair to take stabs at people that are looking at both sides of the fence. Just remember everything here is all BS untill proving.
Please don't spoil the party. Thank you..:)

Keep in mind, too, that Samsung makes their own LTE radio.. so if they've matured it on a smaller process or even integrated it into the Exynos SoC.. it's not entirely implausible. It's not like they have to wait for the MDM9600 on a die shrink to do anything useful.

Keep in mind that press release was from February of this year and even then indicates that it will only sample in late 2011. The migration to 28nm has gone poorly for everyone, so its almost certainly behind schedule.

No way there's a 9615 in anything before 2012, imo.

I don't think it's as curved as that comparison. When I cropped the pic from the available photos it looks like the one on the bottom, as you can see, it appears less curved ...

If it were not for Steve Jobs we wouldn't be enjoying our Android devices. He's the definition of an innovator. Even though I'm not an Apple fan I have the utmost respect for him.

Yup, I basically credit him & Apple for my Galaxy Tab 10.1 (which I <3) because they redesigned it into its current sexiness after the iPad2 was announced. They pushed Android hardware makers and Google to keep up and not get complacent.

i wonder if it's going to come with NFC like Nexus S Google wallet is fun to use

I am really psyched for Google wallet. I will be really, really bummed if the Prime doesn't have NFC. :( I've been getting 1 year upgrades for a while, so this will be my first real 2 year phone, and to be without NFC for 2 years would make me really sad.

Like I said earlier. The curvature is not as extreme as it appears. The two tone paint job of black and silver coupled with the way they "tapered" the colors in some areas make it look more extreme.

Yeah I agree. Even if the curvature made sense for actual talking on the phone, who would design for that these days? That much curve would make typing a major pain, and anyone designing a high-end Android phone for phone calls instead of typing would be insane, IMO.

This thread is makine *me*insane. I wish it would just be the 11th already. Or better yet, release date. :D

ETA: Well dang, I type a post and important stuff happens! Happy to see NFC on that list. I'm not a battery exper, but that sounds pretty good right? Better than my Droid2 anyway. :D Also this "Also, one notable feature of Ice Cream Sandwich? The ability to monitor each app’s data usage on the device" is interesting to me.

What means vanilla?
I've met it first on this forums.
Usually here it means a phone with the plain Android user interface, without Samsung's TouchWiz or Motorola's MotoBlur or any other manufacturer's user interface added on. Could also mean the absence of a carrier's bloatware apps.

People here often prefer vanilla phones, because they may have faster responsiveness and have fewer memory-hogging apps preloaded and possibly unremovable (unless the phone is rooted). They can then choose whatever launcher and widgets they like to customize the phone.

@theJungle:

"Vanilla" refers to Android in its pure sense. No UIs like Sense, Blur or TouchWiz overlaid. Just plain old Android.

"Stock" refers to the way the phone came out of the box, before any modifications are made to the phone such as custom ROMs and kernels.
