100% SOLD!

*whips the wallet out* Verizon take my money!

I played with a SGS2 over the weekend and that thing was SUPER damn smooth! My DX (not rooted) has LPP running on top of motoblur with the stock micro sd card and the stock 1500mah battery that I get around 4 hours of use out of with heavy usage. Its slow, I have to restart it at least once a day, and VZW has added more and more bloat with every upgrade!

Galaxy Nexus, PLEASE!

Now all I want to hear on the 11th is a pre-order date :D

Wait, am I wrong, but don't you need to have an sd card in place to root/rom/restore? I have the DX, but modding rules and methods are different because of the encrypted bootloader.

Someone please tell me this doesn't mess up modding.

It shouldn't. My Gtablet doesn't have an external sd card for rooting. There just needs to be storage that won't be wiped, though I guess we could always just back it all up and restore it after wiping.

Still iffy on the curved screen, sd slot and battery life. Sold everywhere else.

I guess it'll come down to reviews between Nexus Prime, Vigor and whatever Motorola launches.

If it's a complete VZ exclusive, then I plan to upgrade to iPhone 4S, unload it on EBay for $$$, then buy the international Nexus Prime to use it here on at&t. Hopefully it will come with all bands, including the 850/1900.
It will probably be kinda difficult to get your hands on the international version in the US, seeing as it's a Verizon exclusive. But, however, if it IS easy to get, then all of this exclusive crap is a moot point.

Maybe, just maybe, the exclusive is on the phone sold in the carriers physical store. I don't know. I just want AT&T to get it, expeditiously.

A phone I'll be happy to use for at least two years (or more?).

This looks like it will be that phone.
Yeah, I have to agree. There are no deal-breakers for me w/these specs.
The only doubt I have specs-wise is that I thought the 4460 only came at 1.5 GHz. Is that right?

That was my impression too, but this article from June mentions a 1.2GHz 4460.

If so, it's either going to be an overclocked 4430 (I hope not!) or an underclocked 4460 (underclocked to save battery life?).
Good point, an underclocked 4460 could possibly run at lower voltage -- that along w/new Pentile screen could mean unusually good battery life. I haven't found anything on the web about 4460 yield problems (has anybody?) so I guess the clock speed could just be an incremental marketing thing.

To my knowledge, all the WSJ confirmed is that Sprint struck a 20billion dollar deal to carry the iPhone. It had no mention of iPhone 5 or 4S, only that sprint bet the company on it.

That is true. I think everyone was shocked by the $20B figure (derived from # of units promised). So people, including BGR, jumped to the conclusion that if that much money was at stake it had to be for an exclusive right.

Yeah, I'm assuming the stock kernel clocked it down a little to save battery life. That's why I was hoping for better management with ICS but I'm sure there's a reason (rigorous testing) they bumped it down a little. Tells me they're on the brink a little so overclocking might mean the need for a different battery. And then I'm thinking...where the Hell are we going to fit a larger batttery in this thing?

How's this for interesting, gang:

Someone named Lee Johnston says:

The BGR Samsung Prime specs are bogus.
The specs of the real Samsung Prime will be almost the same as the specs of the recently released Samsung Galaxy S II HD LTE

Display: 4.65-inch HD(1280x720) Super AMOLED
Camera: 8 megapixel (flash)/2 megapixel on the front
Battery: 1850 mAh
Value added features: 1.5GHz dual core AP, embedded 16GB memory,
Bluetooth 3.0 HS, WiFi a/b/g/n
Black_man_x replies:

very good.. very good. glad someone pays attention to what goes on in the rest of the world.. good job bro.
Interesting indeed!

Note sure what to make of that ..

This makes sense. Although the first specs are good, there's no reason why Sammy would go backwards in specs, given that the SGSII HD (released in Korea) is better.

If this is true, the reduced on-board storage points to an SD card slot, and I'd be MUCH happier with this battery.

I think this makes a lot of sense. I didn't understand why they'd put a bigger battery in the SGSII than in the higher-resolution, LTE-enabled Nexus.

I was a little disappointed at first in the clock speed of the processor, but after re-thinking it I'm still 100% on board with this phone. End of January can't get here soon enough.

Yep, I thought this could be a little amiss but I didn't want to come across as a downer Dan, people have been getting butt chewings for that lately. :D

I bet the new cam specs are right. However, they could technically both be right about the processor. They're listing the same one but again, the stock kernel might clock it down a tad. So we're talking about a hardware spec 1.5 that might be running real world at 1.2.

Right, but BGR also went on and on about how their "highly credible sources" told them that it was near fact that Sprint would have the exclusive on the 5, and it would be wimax, and all of the other BS he mentioned.

Both sets of specs seem great to me. 1 is a little better, sure. But I am thrilled either way.

Regarding the smaller battery - if true - it could be they just couldn't fit it in such a thin phone with LTE.

Its pretty obvious P3 was behind the BGR article. People are going to hate me for this but I'm going to say it anyway. Its probably innaccurate and I will go so far as to say there is a 99% chance its inaccurate.

Go ahead curse me out :)

Edit: LOL whew nevermind! I posted without reading the entire thread. Things are heating up for sure.

No need. Many of us agree with you, given the specs list referred to by black_man_x.

But you are &*%$^ idiot regardless. ;)

I agree...once again, am I wrong to think that the SGSII will be faster with same speed processor & a lot less pixels to manage in the screen....or does one have nothing to do with the other???

My feelings exactly. Either way I will be very happy. Also, I'm thinking that ICS will be the best feature of this device regardless.
