Hans,

I updated the OP with this and am going to alert the phandroid editors. Thank you.
This is a little ridiculous. Some random person on G+ says something and suddenly we change specs?!

FWIW, Lee Johnston describes himself as "I'm an English guy that lives and works in PennsylTucky USA... And I don't sleep much ;)" I'm sure he's a really nice guy, but I didn't see anything there about his connections to Samsung, Verizon, or Google.

(Google+ reportedly has some 50,000,000 members now, so can we just quote any of them?)

Its pretty obvious P3 was behind the BGR article. People are going to hate me for this but I'm going to say it anyway. Its probably innaccurate and I will go so far as to say there is a 99% chance its inaccurate.

Go ahead curse me out :)
No ones gonna curse you out for this! I don't trust anything BGR says after the shenanigans they have posted over the past few months.

Yep, I had a chance. Every weekend, as my brother has SGS II.

You don't understand me. We're waiting for something special here, huh? If it's not special, so we don't have to sit here at blab here, just let's go and buy SGSII, it's just the same phone! Sigh..

I'm not leaving Verizon and I carry an OG Droid, so this will indeed be special for me and many others.

I put no stock whatsoever in Lee Johnston's credibility. I put a lot of stock in black_man_x, who has reportedly been using the Nexus for the last few weeks, works for Google, and has backed up this guy's claim.

This is good enough for me. Thank you, Hans. The Phandroid article is being updated as we speak!

I was hoping for a better SoC. The new spec's listed does not give the name of the SoC just that it is 1.5. I wonder if that is still the 4460 or something different.

I think Lee Johnson was the guy who squashed all the bad Bionic rumors if I'm not mistaken?

Maybe, but I would've liked a confirmation a whole lot more specific than "very good.. very good. glad someone pays attention to what goes on in the rest of the world.. good job bro." which doesn't actually confirm anything.

FWIW, I don't yet have a strong opinion of which leaked specs are correct, and they'd both work for me in any case. :D

Wasn't he backing bgr's claims earlier today?

Tuesday needs to get here asap.

Cool. I gotta say, Steven, I know I've ripped on you playfully a bit, but you are an awesome Mod to be able to keep up with the thread and be so quick to update stuff. :)

No problem at all. I took your "ripping" playfully, as it was intended. I do the same, but I have to be careful, because if, as a mod, I tease someone, and they take it personally because of my badge, then I'd feel awful. However, I appreciate the banter.

Thank you for your compliment.:)

PS: I just saw the rough draft of the article edit and YOU'RE IN IT! You're FAMOUS! (I made sure of your inclusion... good eye, bro.) :) :)

Seriously? AF is blessed to have members like you and all the rest of the folks on this wonderful MEGA THREAD! :D

TI's spec sheet for the 4460 says 1.5 gHz. So if it is down to 1.2 ghz then it may be for power consumption or stability of manufacturing issues are to be believed. Regardless, if ICS was built for dual cores and apps are updated as well then the Prime will blow the SGSII on GB out of the water.

I really don't see 1.5 vs 1.2 gHz as a major issue. Now what revision of bluetooth does it have?

I really don't care if it is a single core 1ghz processor. I want android without garbage, without privacy leaks, without my phone ringing and my only option being "end call", without waiting months to get an update - only for an update to cause a new set of issues with voicemail and get pulled.

I'd really like to see BT4, ANT+, and NFC with LTE. Everything else is semantics.

Well BMX said that specs had been leaked to a few sites. I guess if you really look closely, he hasn't denied or confirmed any sources. I just thought it was significant that he replied to Lee Johnston the way he did. If it weren't true, I'd assume he would just ignore it.

I guess we'll all know for sure on Tuesday! :D

What about the fact that the 1.2ghz processor will be running on an HD screen, unlike the screen that the sgsII has, which has less pixels in the screen. Won't this make the sgsII faster now and especially when it gets ICS. I personally think this is an inaccurate leek. Some parts may very well be true, but why leak specs that are less then everyone's expectations, unless it is to get everybody's hopes down a little, then blow them away Tuesday. I hope this is the case, I'm on T-mo & can't afford to change carriers.

E-x-a-c-t-l-y!
It was accurate, it'll be just Galaxy 2S, evolution, not the revolution we're waiting for.

I just don't see how we can get all of this information, but someone can't sit down for like 10 seconds with the Galaxy Nexus and a tape measure.

I really want to know the physical dimensions of this thing before I get too excited.

Knowing Samsung they wouldn't pump out the Nexus with the first set of Specs. They do things big nowadays....

We will find out soon enough but I'm going with the second set of specs as being more accurate. But thats just me.....

these specs aren't true for sure...

it was listed as for "Gaming & Entertainment Enthusiasts" at CTIA...

OMAP 4460 clocked at 1.2GHz... well no, sgs2 seems to be quite better than this...

the nexus prime will have the exynos-chipset that is enhanced for entertainment and 3D graphics (=gaming), the exynos 4212, which is also more power efficient (32nm instead of 45nm)

furthermore 1750mA battery is ridiculous... the screen is 720 sAmoled at 4,65"... yeah nice 4-5 hours of use and you need to charge again...

it should have 2000mA battery at least...

also: don't trust everything BGR says... only trust official statements as you'll get on october 11.

well if the nexus prime doesn't have what im expecting, then i'll go with the SGS2 anyway, although id like to have an 720p screen, so propably ill go with the sgs2 lte hd when it's avaiable in europe...

I remember when the Boy Genius was an Engadget poster. He had ALL the exclusives. Even when he got his own site, he had all of the exclusives on every carrier and OS. Now, they are a commercialized shell of themselves. No objectivity, too defensive of Apple and RIM. Too critical of Android and, at times, WP7.
