***Official Galaxy Nexus Pre-Release speculation thread**

So, it looks like next week will truly be an eventful week with the announcement of the Razr (spyder), probably the Vigor, and the Galaxy Nexus. Then we can all make informed decisions on which device is for us. Pretty excited to be honest...when was the last time you can remember Verizon releasing 3 top of the line phones within weeks of each other.

Well said! I can't remember being this excited about phone releases, let alone 3. I was pretty psyched when I got my OG on launch day, during the speculation of iPhone going to Verizon (which didn't happen till what, 6 months later?) but this Vigor/Razr/Prime insanity is preettttty fun if you ask me.

I hear a lot of horror stories about VZW employees, but the ones at the store near me have always been great. They even managed to get my wife's Bionic on an unlimited data plan when she didn't have a data plan on her feature phone that was being traded in. I wasn't expecting that, so it was pure class.

Oh, I'd never say that they are all bad. There are of course some great reps out there that are really knowledgeable and helpful. I've met some really great reps and some that are on the forum. I once had a rep recommend the forum to me when we were discussing upcoming devices.

This really reminds me of the Droid Incredible days. What Verizon would never release 2 flag ship phones so close together! Seemed that was every other post.

I remember all of that. I do find it odd that they would release 3 at the same time though. Unless they have no interest or ability to do the promotion on the Nexus. Then they only have two phones to push.

Did someone really just Godwin this thread? ;)

Seems so! But, that wasn't where I was trying to go.

I really would like some juicy details though if'n Google is testing out their FCC demands on the 700mhz spectrum on VZW in some way with this device!

My 100 Post ...woooo hoooo. I want to thank eveyone that has helped me get to this point. You all are awesome.

... 700mhz spectrum on VZW in some way with this device!

Not really related but how well does the 700mhz LTE penetrate walls vs the verizon EVDO 3g/1g? My current gig has spotty reception, so streaming only works sometimes at my seat. If I were to move a row or two over, it gets better, but I can't work there.

The rumor of the Nexus being delayed is because of problems with ICS.

Verizon wants bloat on ICS and Samsung/Google wants no bloat on ICS.
That expands the delay. And I bet there will be some bloat on the device.
The semi bloat had to be add to ICS.

Assigned seating? That sucks

I have faith in Verizon...they do have a history of being late to the party. I think it's redemption time for them.

There are soooo many people that hope you are right. I admit that I hope too, but I am skeptical for sure. Since I had my hopes dashed on the SGII, then the UnPacked event was postponed, I am starting to feel like I'm going to have this beat up Rogue till it stops making calls too.

Source?

[Edit] Or is that just your theory?

This all depends. If'n VZW has access to and service on the old analogue spectrum in your area 700mhz LTE won't be A LOT different because that was in the 800-850mhz range or about the same frequency/wavelength for penetration. Maybe a TINY BIT better with LTE since it is a lower frequency and bigger wave by a BIT. If'n VZW only owns 1900mhz PCS air in your area and uses that only though, LTE will be WAY better in obstructed locations.

Oh, and probably have PCS and are going to do way better in the building if'n your reception is perfectly fine near full bars just outside the building as that would tend to suggest PCS.
