Root [ROM] CyanogenMod 7 for the LG Optimus M MS690

nope..optimus m lacks the hardware


however ive downloaded apps that will play local stations thru ur data connection
 
The only way to listen to fm radio on the OM is to have aftermarket headphones with an antenna built in. In my case I own a nokia express music that came with headphones like that...
 
Hey PG, I know im not suppose to ask for ETA's and especially after Ive never donated to you, (which i will, i promise) but CM came out with new version.... cm7.1... is that something we may get? just wondering.... not neccesairly a eta, more like a just wondering lol

even though theres alot of things that we already have like brightness in statusbar.... (you must of sync it be4 they released it with a nightly)

but this is awesome "Android 2.3.7"....
 
so i just flashed the plague kernal and i went to restart and its stuck at the cm7 boot animation and it is taking an obscenely long time to boot in i honestly think its broken and its taking longer than it did with the first boot into cm7 but i cant go into the custom recovery for some reason Vol+ , home and power doesent go into it i have to boot all the way into the os and click reboot iinto recovery . :/ i have no idea whats going on its been sitting here for a while now not doing anything but the boot animation and i just downgraded it from 2.2.2 back to 2.2.1 so i could flash this rom please help

yea the features you mention have been there for awhile and yup the next build will be 2.3.7, I just have to merge some changes for the thunderc to my repo so it builds.

its home + vol down, power to boot into CWM. With the latest build you dont need to flash the kernel as its already in the build. I suggest dl'ing the latest build and wipe n reflash.
 
so i recently flashed this rom and everything was fine yesterday but today i switched to a different keyboard and then no keyboard works. ive downloaded 10 keyboards and everytime i select them in the keyboard settings the check mark wont stick in the box. when i hold down on input for text to select input method no keyboards show up. after hitting the screen a million times eventually go keyboard started working (how i managed to download more keyboard apps) even though it is not even selected in the keyboard settings. this keyboard is horrible. does anyone have any ideas what this problem is and/or how i might fix it?

Your CM7 just needs a reboot. Then try picking the keyboard again.
 
how do u get the microphone & the button on headphones to work?
it use to work with the sense rom but now it doesnt work wit CM7 so everytime i want to talk on the phone i have to unplug my headphones :confused:
 
Hey PlayfulGod, I can't set my CPU to anything above 600 MHz or my phone begins to glitch out. Any idea why?

I will have to check that out, I never use wired headphone cept for music.

not sure there, mine is set @768Mhz and runs like a dream. If it didnt my wife would be raising hell with me lol
 
Same here mine has been running on 768 perfect.

Looks like you may have too many resources running. Uninstall what you dont need. (Go to Manage Resources and see whats happening)
 
dunno why but on this latest build default ringtones lockscreen styles etc return immediately after I change em. further is there a mms fix that actually works? metroff never worked neither did the mms fix elsewhere on here...
 
I seem to be having issues with my brightness levels on this ROM. Every time I set them they revert back to another level. If I adjust the settings through the menu they revert once I turn the phone off/on. And if I use the app it reverts immediately after I select and close the widget. Anyone have any ideas?
 
Sounds to me like Settings.apk has become corrupted. Usually A2SD is to blame for this but it's not to hard to fix

Read Everything Before Doing Anything!!!

First and foremost I highly recommend flashing DTA2SD beta 4a which can be found easily on Google.If you get a crazy boot after flashing DONT PANIC, just pull the battery and turn the phone back on. After that use this tutorial to replace Settings.apk and if need be or for some reason the status bar widget messes up on ya from time to time then also replace SystemUI.apk

NOTE: Moving the Dalvik-Cache or using DATASD through A2SD is a very bad idea if your SD card class is lower than a class 6. If you have a class 4 (the more common of the cheap SD cards to me) then after reflashing A2SD move the dalvik back to the internal storage using A2SDGUI (the easiest and least complicated way) then select move and rebuild through the app and that should prevent this from happening again. Also stay away from making an EXT4 partition with a lower class sd card as this can cause performance issues just the same as having to big of a swap size set.

Fixing permissions seemed to have worked. But if it persists then I may just have to try the repair method. Thank you.
 
i cant get busybox to install. it says i have multiple copies and something went wrong with the install. i tried
adb shell
su
cd /data/local
chmod 755 busybox
then i get chmod: permission denied

advanced root check says that i have root access though in the advanced tab it says "exec: ls: permission denied" four times...

in a terminal emulater typing ls anywhere gives me a permission denied.

i tried gingerbreak thinking maybe i didnt have full root access and got "could not extract assets"

i also flashed DTA2SD beta 4a

anyway i just need busybox anyone know what could be my problem?
 
if busybox is already installed why does the root checker app say it is not? i installed samba filesharing and when i open it it says it is unable to find a way to execute shell commands. ls wont work in a terminal emulator, i get permission denied. i tried to execute adb shell rmdir /data/local/tmp so i could then remake it but got permission denied. could it be that i have a root permission problem?

EDIT:many commands dont work in the terminal. such as ls, df, cat, jobs, free, cal, even clear gives me permission denied! although id does confirm i am root. several apps ive tried to install wont work because they require shell commands and i dont have many commands at my disposal. for example while installing samba filesharing the log says (2358): testshellcmd() test 1 failed, result=null and test 2 also failed with the same result. vm heap tool wont work it says write access not established make sure device is NAND unlocked. ive been searching all day and either my keywords suck or im the only person with this problem.

EDIT: id delete this post if i knew how. i had previously reflashed several times to no avail but this time i was able to get my commands back in the terminal. although still having app issues, so long as ive got commands ill figure it out.
 
Great job on the cm7 rom. I had a few bugs at first, and it didnt have swype but that really doesnt mean shit! LOVE the kernal, and the rom is lighting quick!!! Great job guys. Please give me a heads up when you get to 2.3.7 !!!
