Please, we're begging you guys... Do this in another thread, please? I know it's kind of a 'anything goes' thread, but even so.. It's not unimportant, just totally off the discussion track here .

Tsk tsk tsk

This is what happens when folks want to get one more word past the mod asking them to take it outside - members get frustrated.

And my dog starts pacing.

To keep the frustration down, my dog happy, yet still foster an interesting discussion, I've moved a few posts over here -

http://androidforums.com/lounge/430504-samsung-vs-apple-intellectual-property-discusscion.html

Enjoy! :)

Thanks Steven. Of course it could always be the higher ups cancelled the Galaxy Nexus and are so pleased at themselves for screwing the consumer yet again, but I am gonna go with your source on this one :)

The Pats are going to snatch up the AFC East playoff spot, with the Bills sneaking in as the wildcard. The subsequent matchup will topple the Pats out of the running and the superbowl is going to be a Bills/Packers matchup where Rogers will shine but ultimately Fred Jackson will run the defense ragged and the shootout will end at 34-37 with the Bills finally getting their superbowl win.

This is fantasy football, right?

Also, this is totally on-topic because I plan to follow every game for the rest of the season from my shiny new Galaxy Nexus :D

Ravens win last night, Terra Nova tonight, Bible Study tomorrow evening, Nexus Announcement tomorrow night.... good times.

you're not worried about what jcase said?

Based on personal experience the specs listed above are wrong. The unit I had access to does not match the specs above.
-jcase TeamAndIRC

Particularly the CPU is a 4460 that is clocked down 1.2ghz, atleast in this build (Easy change in kernel, and could be changed with with a few keystrokes). The camera app shows 5MP not 8mp and the battery states 1750.

edit: and by worried, i mean, if those specs are indeed wrong, does that mean the whole thing is wrong? or just those specs. hmmmm

The thing is that jcase could have refuted one of the brand new features that came out with that article, which is the capacitive bezel. If he said that the CPU was wrong along with there not being a touch-sensitive bezel, then I'd be more concerned. Since he didn't do that, I'm going to assume it's one of two things:

1) He had a different model that was specced slightly different(his spec may be the final one though, you never know)
2) He's lying.

Just a heads up... number of views for this thread has now far surpassed the Galaxy Nexus rumor/spec thread in the "other" forum. We are past 182,000 views where they are only just over 175,000 views at the moment. This is probably the hottest thread in Android universe right now! Good job everyone!

HAHAHA, that's hilarious :D

...mostly because the pack would never lose to the bills. Go Pack!

. . . . .
My source surmises that this is either due to the possibility that either google, Samsung and Verizon are now in an accord and/ or it is due to tomorrow's moto announcement or both.. . . .

Hmmm. Knowing Verizon as well as I do, I'd think they are downright giddy over the Moto announcement.

With the hopes of Verizon releasing a pure Android device without their crap smeared all over it, and this news that they are downright giddy, it doesn't sit well with me. If they were still pissed, that would give me some encouragement.

Usually, Giddy Verizon = unhappy me.

My very first post as an Android forum user! I felt as if i had to post in response to this; I wanted to be part of something big. :p

I'll be (im)patiently waiting for the release and watching the live YouTube feed from the UK, looking to upgrade from my outstanding and faithful HTC Desire.

Happy to hear the the tension has cooled a bit at VZW. That has to be because stuff was worked out...and I think for once the customers are going to win! I just can't stop being the positive one until proven wrong. :)

Welcome to the forums and the thread. You've joined at an exciting time. Enjoy your stay.

Welcome to the forums and my point exactly!

If I pay full retail for the phone, my bill should go DOWN substantially because they're not subsidizing anything. If my bill doesn't drop, there's no reason to pay them TWICE for the phone by going the full retail route.

This is why carriers love folks who pay full retail to avoid the contract commitment. I'm paying down the subsidy on my new phone, you are paying a monthly free agent fee.

Terra Nova! A little cheesy, but I like it. Here's hoping it gets grimmer and more serious, though. They have the setting for a Lost-like show, they need to take advantage of it.

Ah, LOST! Best show ever.

I think I will share a Lost rewatch with my Galnexusaurus!

This phone looks so much more enticing than the Rezound/Vigor.
Coming from an Incredible, I was probably going to stick with HTC. But now I think I'm changing my mind.

You're so smooth Han.

....I hope to be writing more stuff like that soon on my Gnex :)

There is no doubt that the Galaxy Nexus is meant for media consumption. Hope you have a nice 720p source for your Lost episodes as that's what you'll need to fully take advantage of the Super AMOLED HD screen.

Actually, you should re-watch all your favorite videos on the Galaxy Nexus as it will be a treat. Too bad Netflix delivers pretty compressed video... otherwise it would eat up most of the net traffic in North America!

My PC's video card is crap. It probably won't run on it. I was also looking forward to LA Noir in December, but I'm sure that will be a no go.

Can some of you tech-heads tell me why it's so impossible to switch out video cards on a laptop? It's so freaking frustrating!

Pc version of arkham city is coming out in novermber i believe its only console that is coming out tonight/tomorrow. I am actually pretty darn excited about this game

Arent most laptop video card cards integrated to motherboard isnt that why its so difficult ?

Yep, I've got all 6 seasons in 720p HD! It will be sweet. I'm holding off on a lot of different movies and shows (Person of Interest, Prime Suspect, Captain America, the Green Lantern, the last two Smallville seasons [Yes, I know he puts on the suit at the end, but please don't spoil anything else!!!]) until I get my paws on the beast.
