Damn you VZW! Now I have to decide if it's worth jumping ship and losing my ATT unlimited to go VZW 5GB for the same price with the GNex.

I really hope they announce when the other carriers will get it tomorrow. If they give me something firm on other carriers then I think I ...might...be able to wait. It they leave ATT and Sprint in the dark I'll probably go VZW.

We just got LTE in the area so this is very tempting.

if you are really worried about losing unlimited , I would try and go unsubsidized route you may pay an bit extra but you are keeping unlimited data, and you may eventually get "att lte"

WOW! I can't believe I got 10,000!

First of all, I'd like to thank my mom, and also my wife. They have really been supportive. Also, I'd like to thank all of you, freaks and geeks, for your support. This couldn't have happened without you. Yes, I'm better than all of you, but I will not act like it, I promise.

Thank you, and have a wonderful evening!

Hey all, first timer here :)

With these types of displays is there any concern with screen burn in? I was checking out some phones at Best Buy and some of the new displays already showed a shadow of their splash screen when you moved off of it. Sorry, I don't recall which phones they were, but I was only looking at the newer android ones.

How would they prevent that problem with on screen buttons? It would be annoying to have a shadow of a home button on the edge when you watch a movie.

Whoa, that was a lot of posts really fast. When I started typing my last post, the thread was only at 9981. Congrats for the 10k!!!

why is this such a concern to some?

Yeah. If it won't release until November 3 as the best/most conservative rumors are suggesting there is no reason for the FCC to make it public until then. Guessing it's already went through them at this point and is just a matter of going on their website publicly.

I don't get it.
...
I don't get this either.
...
How's that?

Was just wishful thinking on ban-proofing by way of mod-flattering.

Per TI, the OMAP chips are not simply overclocked versions of each other. There are different designs of the SoC to reduce heat with the CPU and GPU. I guess we will know tomorrow, but I call bunk on 1.5ghz unless some wild and crazy overclock option in settings that has some obvious disclaimer.

The 4460 tech ref manual describes a half dozen registers/features as included for backwards compatibility w/4430, and I'm sure you're right about improvements for heat dissipation.

But we did have a poster some dozens of pages ago who seemed highly plugged into the industry and reported that TI confirmed immediate volume shipment of 1.5GHz 4460 w/o any delays.

There were indeed Archos G9 delays due to unavailability of 1.5GHz 4460, but the poster implies that doesn't affect Nexus shipping.

Also...My opinion on IP is actually very relevant to the whole entire world, and that inclueds this thread. Lorem ipsum dolor sit amet, consectetur adipiscing elit. Cras luctus hendrerit lacus eget aliquam. Etiam blandit faucibus dolor, eu rhoncus magna vestibulum eu. Praesent vestibulum sodales metus vel sollicitudin. In nec euismod diam. Eh, looks Greek to me. [/American educational system]

this is an excellent question. the notification bar on my nexus one has been burnt into the screen for many months now. hopefully this screen won't have any burn in issues

Interesting. Is the Nexus One an LCD screen?

If you look at the threads I've spun off, you'll find that I've put my own welcoming posts at the top even though that wasn't so in the original timeline.

This is because I'm you're Vorlon mod and have control of time and such things.

And I'm truly surprised that it hasn't occurred to anyone to bribe me for the 10k spot. But, that would be bad. So, whatever you do, don't bribe me to get the 10k spot. Don't even make it a bidding war with me to get the 10k spot. Last thing we'd want is anyone bribing me for that 10k spot. Because it would be wrong to bribe me to get the 10k spot. So, whatever you do, don't try to bribe me for the 10k spot in this thread.

Winner
Ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh

Any questions?

Alright, back to business as usual.

I've never had 4g so it's hard to tell what usage I'll have. My 3g usage on a 3gs has never gone over 500Mb in a month. Granted that's an iPhone and I plan to use the GNex a lot more. It would suck to go VZW and find out I need more than 5GB.

Guess I could buy the gnex with 5gb and use it for the 14 day trial, then check data usage. If I surpass 2.5GB then I know the unlimited data is the way to go.

Not sure I can talk the little lady into letting me spend $650 on an unsubsidised phone....especially with an ankle biter on the way. Time to sell fluids I guess.

Does anyone with an android on LTE know if they regularly go over the 5gb monthly?
