I guess it's okay that it's happening in Hong Kong. Opening day for the Mariners and the A's will be in Japan.....WHAT DOES THIS MEAN??? haha....Good night children. Anticipating much tomorrow.

Hey everyone ive been lurking since Dec '09 and figured id put up my first post here on this thread because ive been following it pretty closely since the whole sammy/google announcement blunder and id been holding off for the GSII for T-Mo since i got my Mytouch 4G but ive been pretty curious about this phone. I hope it turns out to be as good as its been made out to be :)

welcome to the roller coaster don't forget just before you through up to turn and tell the person sitting next to you :)

( ow and i hope it is to lol )

Hello everyone. I guess I'll have to change my user name pretty soon! My first smart phone was an HTC Incredible, which served me well for ~1.25 yrs (eventually started to fall apart in every way--force closes, volume buttons not working etc). BRIEFLY I thought about the IPhone 5 (which was actually a disappointing 4S!). I tried it out when someone in my family got one last week, and quite honestly it's very underwhelming. Much less efficient than the android platform (3 clicks for every 1 on an android it seems) and a TERRIBLE keyboard. Wow. And these days, who wants just ONE iphone to choose from when you got tons of options if you don't follow the masses (seems like everyone has an IPhone everywhere I turn!).

Anyway, I'm very excited about tomorrow's announcement. Google is coming up with a lot of innovative ideas, and I think over the next few years they are really going to improve their hold on the market. My only concern is the battery life (which has been a problem with my HTC Incredible), but at least we can change out our own battery (cough IPhone cough).

Hopefully there are a few nice surprises tomorrow that no one has heard yet.

Welcome!!! I felt the same way. :D

I'm going to absolutely go nuts when the first 99% of the show is ICS this, available that, Siri-wannabe here, ICS update, ICS for you, ICS for me, ICS new feature #3, Samsung and ICS, ICS no real buttons!

O ya, potential Galaxy Nexus Release Date is XX/XX, subject to change.

ICS you later!

Depspite all of the rumours and speculation, the arguments over Android vs. iOS, carrier vs. manufacturer, Samsung vs. Moto vs. HTC vs. Apple, ... whatever your predilection is... I hope the culmination of ICS and Nexus will, in retrospect, be a turning point.

In the name of the allmighty dollar, all of these companies try to produce something that they think will satiate us, the end user, but ultimately the product is compromised by that which they strive for. Money.

As an end user, I also feel that certain companies have a better understanding of us than others. There is no question in my mind that Verizon and Apple could give an (expletive) about what we, as consumers, want. Thus we have locked down products like the iPhone and... well just about everything else.

On the other hand, in an effort to usurp the powers that be, and probably gain an upper hand, we have companies like Google and Samsung that are willing to listen to the consumer and deliver what it is that we are looking for. Powerful hardware and software that is game changing and relevant to the end user's wants and needs.

Now, I am not naive enough to think that they are doing it out of any other motivation than to gain, ultimately, money. That is the way things are today.

That said, I can at least respect the means by which they are willing to do it... with intelligence, by listening to their consumers, and ultimately delivering the products that we want versus the iron fist, 1984 way of doing things.

In that idiom, I respect those companies that are working for us versus those that are working against us. My. 02.

OK. It is time for the next Nexus. Time to change the game.

Only 10.5k posts? What kind of weak sauce is this? :-) Happy Ice Cream Sandwich day y'all! I can't imagine what this place will look like tomorrow. Is 1k in a day possible?

Don't know the exact stats but I'd be willing to bet we did way more than that in the Incredible forum. That forum go to a point where it was moving so fast the only way you kept up was by only reading the posts with a bunch of thanks because that was most likely the biggest news of the day.

So to answer your question 1k in a day is definitely possible.

Edit: Just looked back at that thread and it's amazing to see we had almost 48k posts in just under 3 months. Wow!

my wallet is ready.

Mine is too. Still have yet figure out the best way to purchase it since I'm going to have to pay full retail. I'm not opposed to an online purchase from a reputable vendor, but definitely won't use an auction site. Suggestions welcome.

we're all talking in the android forums chat channel, we'll be back in force after tomorrow's event.

gonna say this refers to the official moto/verizon event and the razr, not the sammy/google event of which verizon wont be a part of

I would agree with you. I do hold out hope that since Verizon has nothing to do with Google/Samsung Annoucment maybe there is hope that other carriers could get it Nov 24th as that BMX poem said? If this is a Verizon exclusive and such a big thing would not Verizon want to get there name in on the Annoucment? Sprint get in on this please!!! Sprint helped push the NFC and Google Wallet. Give us something for it please..
