Yeah, but how can multiple testers with different specs be in denial? Unless they had an earlier prototype. . . but they did handle the device and they had different specs.

People who are advocating the "shut up and wait" program are right. I'm not going to shut up, of course, but I'll be majorly toning down the freak factor until later tonight. :p

Whats so different about the specs?

It's pretty much what bgr postet, unless you guys were expecting the gsmarena specs when pretty much every source was saying otherwise.

I also think they mean figuratively big, not just 136mm long. It may not have eveything we all hope for, but these specs just aren't going to blow away John Q Public. I definitely understand your point, and it is true that people see bigger numbers and assume it is better. I personally think that 5MP camera will blow people away though, and a 1.2GHz dual core OMAP processor should be smooth as butter, without killing the battery. And 1750 is still more than my thunderbolt has, and if ICS is properly optimized, could last a decently long time, ESPECIALLY with no verizon bloatware!

Jonnyt211 pointed that out a couple of pages ago, and you're both right. This does take some of the credibility out of the leak, but with the SCH-i515 not going through FCC yet, it's hard to say it with much confidence.

I don't care about the height, just a bit disappointed with the benchmarks that got posted recently.

I, for one, am a bit worried about this as well! Will my thumb mutate with the excessive radiation emitted by this phone? If so, I'm disappointed and this device is certainly not for me.
 
I just want a phone with a big beautiful screen, no lag, and Vanilla Android. I want great call and speaker phone quality as well as good battery life and good reception. Of course I want sturdy hardware also.

As for it being faster than light and able to bend space and time....I will be okay with it as long as it is on par with other top of the line phones. Life is short how fast is to fast? I am not going to die if it takes .00009 seconds longer than the fruit phone to open an application.

You are right that they don't care about the specs in that they really don't know the difference. However, when they see one phone has a dual core 1.5GHz processor with an 8MP camera, they will undoubtedly assume it's better than 1.2GHz and 5MP camera. They don't have to be iSheep to be sheep.

I'm talking about what Steven's Love Tunnel said, and also the guy from AC. Both said larger battery (around 2000mAh?), 1.5 Ghz and not 1.2; and I believe both said 8MP camera. Steven's Love Tunnel said no SD card slot, and I think the AC guy didn't check, but I'm not sure on that one.

Point is, that people who have handled this device have said different things. And those things are kind of significant, especially battery size and clock speed.

I, for one, don't really care, as long as the battery life is reasonable and I can browse, watch, and swipe with no lag whatsoever.

I'm going to try it out the minute it comes out, and if there's any lag or jittery feel to it, I would have to think very hard about buying it.
 
Are the specs actually going to be better than they seem due to the fact that it's running stock with no crap polluting the phone?

2. The Nexus (all of them) has never been spec monsters.
3. It's still going to be a great phone but you'll have lots of options if it ends up being something you don't want.

I have a question,

I have been watching this thread for a while now, and have gotten very excited about the thought of a new device. With that said, every time I see one of these video's of the "latest and greatest" they seem very disappointing. Please don't flame me, but I don't game on my phone, and don't see what makes these phones so anticipated. Hell, I'm running a 2yo phone (an OG Droid oc'd with SS 5.5) and when i watch the videos it seems like the screen draw is not as snappy as my phone. Most of the surfing I do on my phone is via wi-fi, and it may be a little slow, but no more so than my laptop most of the time. So what am I really missing? I do have 4g in my area, and I ran a speed test on a co-workers Tbolt which was crazy, like 32 down 21 up, but as I stated, surfing is comparable to a PC. So what do I have to look forward to if I upgrade now? Am I completely missing what these phones are capable of?

ETA: OHH, and my battery lasts all day with moderate use. EVEN WITH MY GMAIL GOING OFF EVERY TIME THIS THREAD IS UPDATED!!! I'm a lazy SOB and havent gone in and changed preferences yet. Gonna go do that now

Samsung knows the phone will sell despite the processor not being the best of the best. Only geeks care about processors.

They are marketing on the specs that matter the most to the general public, which is a smooth user experience on the latest OS, a large screen, thin design and 4G.

+1. If it was only one of them, I could see it. But with both these guys/gals/its saying the same thing with clock speed and battery, I have to put some trust in them. Also, the Love Tunnel talked about major problems between Verizon and Samsung/Google, and the next day or two we heard about the whole Google Wallet thing and that Verizon might have played a role in the announcement's delay. It all fits too well for it to be total BS.

I think that with ICS being hardware accelerated, no bloatware or Verizon garbage eating up RAM, this will be a buttery smooth phone, on par with iPhone.

I'll be honest. If you're happy with what you have and its working great for what you use it for and you have no need to feel to have the "latest and greatest", then you should probably not go out and get another phone until your OG pukes.
 
I want to contribute to the thread now. Been lurking - that's what I do.

Not sure about pre-order now. If it doesn't fit in my shirt pocket it won't work for me. DX fits ok. Just not sure.

I'll probably get it anyhow. Always been envious of the updates from google.

How funny would it be if this was actually the GSM Version and Verizon was actually getting the upgraded one. This is what I'm leaning towards.

Great question, Hothead. And the answer is basically "Who knows."

When you get down to the nitty gritty, we all want this phone simply because it's the "Next Best Thing". We are all salivating over ICS, but we have no idea, really, what it will be like. Will it be revolutionary, or just a facelift? We have a lot of speculations, but in the end we will either be pleasantly surprised or not-so-pleasantly surprised.

Many of us are on OG Droids or DXs that are dying, so we're going to need a new phone anyway, and this is the cutting-edge in the Android software world. We have no idea if it's cutting edge in the hardware world.

Some of us have phones that are perfectly fine, but just want what's new, shiny, and exciting.

But are you missing out if you don't get it? Probably not. In a few months most new phones from Android will be running ICS with better hardware specs. It's a fast-moving industry.

I'm leaning the other way. To me it makes sense to me to down clock the LTE version to make up for the increased power drain while utilising the spare power on the GSM version to keep standard clocks.
