Gnex is ultra smooth! I just can't handle the way it looks....right now. I hadn't even had my eye on the RAZR. Thats the shocker for me. I was not even entertaining the idea of buying a Motorola. Then they unveiled it today and I was blown away.

I just need to settle in and get over the initial shock of seeing the Galaxy Nexus. I expected something way nicer. I haven't had time to digest all this. I'm hoping after the announcement tonite my decision will be clear. If not it's going to be quite a few days of weighing the pro's and cons. 2 years is a LOOOOOONG time :)

The Razr looks great, but the Nexus.... WOW I am impressed at the functionality of it all. I don't think it looks bad either, but different strokes I guess.

LOL true dat...!

i'm still gonna wait and play with them both. i'll probably end up letting my gut decide - my head is a dangerous playground...

edit: and in the video, that camera was pretty dang fast. i don't know that Moto will ever get to that level...

Development support is a HUGE consideration for me. I want fast updates...but not necessarily from google. I can't wait to see:

1). What ICS is all about
2). What the dev community will do with it

Amen to this. Coming from an OGDroid to a Thunderbolt I could not be happy without having huge dev support.

By the way, I thought I would comment on the looks of both phones. The Razr looks like Motorola phones and the GNex looks like Samsung phones. The end. Neither are a far cry from what each manufacturer has been putting out for the past couple of years. If you think Motorola phones are sexy, which I DEFINITELY do not, then the Razr may be for you. If you think Samsung phones are sexy and where it's at, like I do, then the Galaxy Nexus is for you. I think Motorola phones are ugly and blocky and have sharp edges. I also agree that the Camera bulge is ******ed. The GNex blows it away as far as looks, in my opinion. No competition. I was wanting a GSII for the past six months or so. Verizon didn't get one. Instead, we got the baddest azz GSII known to man with the newest version of Android, no physical buttons, the first HD screen and we will get updates directly from Google THE SECOND they are released with no delay. Plus, Ice Cream Sandwich is beautiful and is much more aesthetically eye pleasing than past releases. Hands down. So...why is ANYONE complaining right now??? Get excited guys! This thing is fast, and in case you missed the video that was posted a few minutes ago, this thing is butter smooth. Seriously, it's hardware accelerated. It's gorgeous. Just wait and see. We'll get all of the delicious details very soon.

Paragraphs my friend... Paragraphs please :D:D:D:D jk

But no non-blur, no locked bootloader, no bloatware and ICS out of the gate? Where do I sign, Verizon? You got me for another 2 years!
That and the sexy hardware specs of the Prime also helped make my decision to get the Prime over the RAZR. Even though I love my Motorola products, I am looking forward to the Prime.

Dang vzw is getting some hella good android phones now:-) , hoping att will get an ics device this year :-) i guess all we got right is sgs 2, but thats running gb lol

All you got was the sgs 2?? Be careful with those words in here lol. Galaxy nexus is running the crappy sgx540 so the mali 400 in the sgs 2 will be much better when it gets ICS. development for sgs 2 will be crazy so i'm sure ICS will come out for it quickly.

If SGS2 was an option on verizon thats what I would be getting.

why is it between the nexus and the razr for everyone?

has everyone forgot about the samsung galaxy s 2 hd? it passed through the fcc a few days ago.

has the same great cpu/gpu as the sgs2 but with the same 4.65" 1280x720 screen as the nexus. best of both worlds..

Because we don't know when the SGS2 HD LTE will arrive and whether verizon will even get it (my bet's on no).

There does seem to be a lot of bezel...at least more than what I was expecting at the top.

Final prediction:

4.65 in Super AMOLED HD (1280x720)
TI OMAP 4460 1.5 Ghz w/SGX540 @384 Mhz
1 GB RAM
32 GB internal storage, no sdcard slot.
1900 mAh removable battery
LTE
LED notification light
8.8 mm at the thinnest
8 MP / 2 MP
ICS 4.0
NFC

I do have to agree that the design is quite generic and Sammy really needs to get away feom the iPhone look. At least the RAZR is bold.

RAZR is ugly as sin. The encompassing glass front is awful and the corners are trying too hard.

I'd take the Nexus Prime in a heartbeat even if it had a single core processor.

I haven't liked the Look of a Motorola phone since the original Droid. I haven't liked the look of a Samsung phone until the SGSII was released. I think they BOTH have 2 great looking handsets right now (SGSII and RAZR)

I'm not brand loyal at all. I go with whatever strikes me the most.

Few things I'm waiting on.

Will this be a Vanilla Device and will updates come straight from Google. It not being Vanilla is not a deal breaker btw. Will it be a totally open handset like the Nexus is intended or will VZW have a lock on it. Just some info I want to hear.

Well i meant to say we dont have ics devices planned lol. SGS 2 is also slow to get official updates , i dont expect ics to be on the device till at least may , thats way too long to wait haha. Verizon is getting three hot phones with in an week lol

You guys are nuts. I had to read about 5 pages to catch up since leaving work a few hours ago. Finally caught up, and working on some beers in prep. for the big event.

huh...i would have guessed just the opposite for you. i agree the RAZR looks awesome, and has the specs to back it up. but, locked BL and all the extra software Moto has added (in addition to blur and webtop) - just made my decision easier. i'm all in for the GNex, unless Google and Sammy release a real turd (which is very unlikely).

have you seen that YouTube video?! looks so smooooooooooooth!

Razr looks like nice decent device from Moto. But I don't like living with built-in battery, let alone all the built-in moto/verizon apps they stuffed in it. Unless Google/Sammy blows Nexus in any major way, it's Nexus for me.
