***Official Galaxy Nexus Pre-Release speculation thread**

Hans why don't you just file a class action lawsuit instead, all the mental stress of not knowing has got to be damaging to our health. Surely a judge would agree and make Verizon tell us whether it is or not, and when, and give us one for free for our pain and suffering...

It's Han, dammit. And yeah, I know the whole grass-roots thing is probably not necessary, because you guys know I'm the anti-CK and am positive this thing is coming to Verizon. But, just in case, I wanted to tell everyone what teamandIRC is doing, and to throw my effort into it as well. I think it is cool to let Verizon know what we want.

And I highly doubt 10,000 emails from people begging for the Nexus will make them decide not to release it, so I see a very minimal risk. If anything, it will tell them that it's a good idea to keep releasing Nexus devices and that the customer demand is there.

I have faith the display will be great. Samsung is probably the largest display maker out there. I found out when researching my plasma TV they basically made them all for everyone else.
I use dual Samsung SyncMaster 215TW S-PVA displays and could not be happier.

samsung displays have always been bright and vibrant, i dont see them pushing something crappy out any time soon. rest assured the display will be phenomenal

Think his description is of an unlocked GSM/HSPA beasty. Those are supposed to have bands for AT&T and T-Mo though. Would be funny if'n someone got one up and running on AT&T or T-Mo before VZW allows any of the LTE ones out any doors.

I'm trusting that the thread will shortly be gone, if it isn't already. I don't mind people throwing hissy fits over imaginary delays, but $hit gets serious when you start instigating harassment campaigns.

Fo sho...how quickly do you think Moto devices will get updates once Google OWNS moto? My highly sophisticated guess? Pretty damn quickly, I bet. One of the reasons that I think I'm one of the only guys here with you with one foot in each bed.

Google can ship the update out to Moto as fast as they want, the limiting factor will be VZW's approval of it.

i actually think moto does a good job on updates, my DX was updated numerous times from moto/vzw

so i dont see why its a big deal about moto
i believe htc is the fastest, then moto, and sammy is just dead last, IMHO


but also just remember moto has to blur everything up first, and then install the vzw crapware

Check the description. I posted before that he says a late November ship date, which means he is just trying to get money from people.

We THINK we know there is a VZW bound LTE one, WE KNOW there was an GSM/HSPA Pentaband world phone shown in HK that could be sold unlocked through all variety of channels.

Maybe they're staying completely silent because Verizon WANTS our enthusiasm about Nexus to die down. Remember, we're marketing and hyping Nexus infinitely more than they're going to, and THEY want to sell RAZRs.

No doubt they've seen the polls that show people wanting Nexus way over RAZR, and they're deliberately creating doubt and uncertainty hoping we'll jump on the Motorola RAZR - on contract - knowing that Nexus is right behind it. Probably 15 days behind it, so RAZR folks are locked into it.

Smart plan if you want to sell one phone over another. Not good for befriending your customer... but then, it's been awhile since Big Red was concerned about that.

No more or less than anyone else since all are guessing. Now, if you were to assert VZW is doing this to suppress purchases of lamas in Nepal, I would have my doubts and say your are off.

Announcement was 3 days ago and no official announcement from the exclusive carrier , no FCC, no leaks picked up by the tech blogs. My interest and confidence of a release are begininng to wane.

So, what does that mean exactly? Would you need a device, like the Note to specifically support it? Or would it be possible to use on other ICS devices if the app was built to support it, like a note-taking app?
