They could just make the docs private until a certain date. Nothing new there

For the record, in case there's any question - I didn't edit that part.

And this is why we care about playing the game instead of the players - no one can hear your tone of face (see what I did there?) in text on a forum.

So - if the things said about each other are always on the positive side and clear between pals - no one gets griefed or muscled.

Why? It can pass the day before. And it could have already passed with a restricted publish date or something.

All we need is some more "leaked" info to get some controversy going. Right now we're in a drought, but I imagine as we get past the RAZR and are closer to launch we'll see some more information "slips" that will fuel plenty of chatter on the forum.

Yeah, adb changed a little. Instead of running everything out of /tools, it's now platform-tools. So you'll have to update that if running a prior build plus d/l the android 4.0 stuff. Then there's a fastboot file from Koush that you can add to platform-tools for quick and easy fastboot commands that will be handy for pushing a custom recovery to the Gnex.

A tutorial would be handy. I just wanted to get ahead of the game.

i spent a couple hours yesterday downloading and installing all the SDK stuff. i have the new 4.0 stuff downloaded, but i don't have the Koush fastboot file - do you have a link?? thanks, man!!

For me personally, the device was announced already and I wonder why there is a hang-up on it passing thru the FCC. It's kind of unusual for Verizon. Not necessarily that that means anything but it's just odd that the release rumors are so close and yet no FCC.

Like many other people have said, they manufacturer can request that the documents be kept private until a date they choose. So we may not know when it goes though the FCC until very close to release date. No one here knows so I wouldn't worry about it.
 
I just hope this thing comes soon... OG seems to be on it's last legs... I sure hope the Gnex handles the test of time a little better...

me too! i broke down and had to switch to my wife's old DInc (since i got her the iP4S - i know, i know...). my OG was an Assurion replacement, and it wasn't receiving calls, constantly locking up, etc - even after i wiped and reflashed a new rom. now, having a stock DInc, i can't WAIT to get a new phone!!!
 
this is for Chief, and others who were concerned about the physical/capacitive menu buttons. they won't be useless; instead, the software menu keys from ICS won't be displayed, and those menu functions will be transferred to the physical/capacitive buttons on the device. here's the quote from a Google spokesperson:

ICS does have onscreen buttons but not always. If there's a device with hardware buttons the onscreen buttons won't be there, and the hardware buttons will act and function as you'd expect them to.... back and home will function as you'd expect, the search button will query the search bar (as you'd expect), and the menu button will query the menu overflow in the action bar.

I'm already getting my ducks in a row. I found out that the gift certificate that my sister gave me for my birthday can be used anywhere, not just the mall. I can pre-order the gnex using my gift card. Additionally, the loyalty support personal already credited my account 50 giving me a loyalty discount toward the, that I don't qualify for ;) :) and I get 65 for my dx which can used toward my vz bill. :)

so I actually spend (after all accounting is done, I get the phone for 134. Can't beat that. :)

What is this stock you speak of?

Btw was having a conversation on facebook with my friend's brother-in-law and I just converted him from wanting the RAZR to wanting this phone.

i just switched today while in a mediation, and my wife wouldn't ever let me root her phone. if i wasn't up to me arse in alligators at work, i'd hack that thing in a second!! don't have the time to figure out all the ins and outs and procedures...

be ready for a wait there is always a line but grab a drink and that bar, it is worth the wait. i'm in middletown about 35 min away i went there last winter in one of the snow storms and there was still a 20 min wait.:)
