I'm fighting the urge. I'm waiting to see the Rezound, RAZR, and Nexus in person. I'm leaning towards buying my phone on Black Friday just in case they offer any deals.

Just want to be sure the credit is properly understood by all who view. Unzip the file, then place the .exe into the /platform-tools folder.

Also, if you haven't edited environmental variables yet, I HIGHLY recommend it. That way you don't have to cd to the /platform-tools folder each time. Instead, just open up cmd with phone hooked up and type and adb command. Done.

Here's a good tut for that purpose:
What Is ADB And How To Install It With Android SDK

Except when you're adding the string to the pathname, only use the last half of what they have listed there. In other words, skip the /tools portion and only add this to then end of the path:
;c:\android-sdk-windows\platform-tools

Add it right to the end of your existing path. DON'T delete anything that's already there.

Amazon is selling it now. I'll quote from the page: "Dispatched from and sold by Amazon.co.uk."
That seems more legitimate than the other seller: "KingOfGadgets," which is, as has been said, a reseller. The release date for the Amazon one is November 2nd, versus November 10th for the reseller. If there's something else I'm missing, yet me know.

And that's why I replaced the link with the one that's guaranteed Amazon direct.

The other references in the link were spammy, that's all, nothing personal.

And I've bought from Amazon, I think many of us have - they're pretty good - but dates are subject to change until the product is in stock, that's their standard deal.

No surprise that they are targeting the Nov 2. Confirms our rumors for the 3rd in the US.

We simply have a rule that doesn't allow linking on your first post.

And the hotlink to the Amazon site for that deal with that info - you said it was about info - is retained. So - your message got out. You could have just as easily said, Amazon UK is promising a date...

I've had my Dinc since launch and I've grown accustomed to the core set of apps that I use everyday. Is anyone else worried about leaving a fave app behind while the devs transition their wares to ICS?

I wouldn't be surprised if unlocked carrier independent versions of the GNex COULD hit well before carrier sponsored ones. Pretty sure a carrier being involved in a phone release can do nothing but make it take longer rather than hit earlier. As long as no carrier was promised an exclusive on this international version vendors can probably ship it as soon as they can get supply from Samsung.

Samsung is really just the hardware vendor and Google is probably fine pushing final release ICS update after handsets start shipping. Some software bugs will probably not get picked up on well until a somewhat broader release happens anyhow. In the USA we expect perfection from initial release of products, but many vendors release stuff earlier other places BECAUSE of lesser such expectations and use them as beta's for new stuff. Even happens with cars, Europe and Japan had direct injection gas engine cars WELL before the USA as they made sure reliability was matured to be passable for the US market.

A great app that helped me thru my 800x480/Froyo and qHD/Gingerbread transitions is Spare Parts +, free in the Market. You can use it to set/unset the compatibility mode flag for the system and that helped many apps look and play right until the dev updated.

Hopefully that or something like it will come to the rescue. Dev of that app seems like a prince to me, in their approach to just helping with this kind of stuff.
 
Here's a question for you guys. How do you think the GNexus will handle SHADOWGUN? The game looks pretty demanding, not to mention the description says its optimized for Tegra 2.

No argument, but the flip side is those release-day OTA updates many (not all) of us have seen. :p

I agree with you - as long as the quality is there, that's the thing.
