Ok, Now that verizon has a sign up page and the source said that something about Nov. 3, what is going to happen on the 3rd?

1. Verizon's big announcement for the Gnex.

2. Pre-order.:)

3. Can buy it in the store.



I think 1 & 2....:D

The few things I have ordered from Verizon, a signature is always required. I have left notes asking to leave the package and they don't. I end up watching the tracking from work and telling them I will pick up from the hub on the way home. It's such a pain that I would rather just run up to the store and pick it up.

That's odd. VZW's packages require an indirect signature. This means you can leave a note with directions to leave at the door or with a neighbor.

I do it every time and have for years

Crap! I changed it in my post, but if Romparoo and iowabowtech could remove it from their quotes, I'd appreciate it. Or a mod could remove it as well.

Don't want to get anyone in trouble.

I just pre-ordered the RAZR and did it over the phone specifically to see if I could do this and the rep said "Sure, why wouldn't you be able to?" Heh. So, yes, I just had them ship my RAZR to my office address.

Yeah that is my plan with the SGN, that way I can charge it as soon as I get it :D

And they do not like to be stored for long periods at full charge. Put one on the shelf at 100% and let it go to 25% or lower and you may find it will not hold as good as when new. Store it at 60% - 75% or so and she will treat you better.

This is why they do not ship @ 100%. If I get a new device of any kind with a 100% charged battery I get suspicious.

Agreed. I fly Lithium Polymer batteries in my model airplanes/helicopters. I have a specific care routine in making my batteries last longer. Never discharge them past 80% (make sure there's around 20% left), don't store them fully charged for longer than a day or so, and a "storage" charge is around 60%, or ~3.85 volts/cell. LiPo/LIon packs are great for their energy density but don't last long if not properly cared for.

But what they told us.
1)GNex doesn't use GG (we already knew from this thread)
2)Gnex uses "another" fortified glass (we already knew from this thread)
3)There are other makers of fortified glass (we already knew from this thread)

Seems like a lot of the articles out there are being written by people who just read Android Forums and repeat the info. I've seen this countless times.

Now, if they did some homework like true journalists and actually hunted down the other suppliers and tried to get them to leak something, then I'd be far lest critical.

Something I saw in the comments I thought was interesting: Did you know that Sammy/Corning have a joint venture together? How much you want to bet this is where the glass comes from? http://www.scp.samsung.com/company/coringcompany.asp

Maybe they just don't want to pay for using the G Glass brand name, but it is in all other ways exactly the same.
 
You know, seeing the RAZR is discounted to $249 online (at least for me), I hope the GNex is the same. Would be nice to get for $50 less.

I know I have a discount available. Not sure what it is yet because I want to hope it's the $50 - then I might throw caution to the wind and order when I can. (In other words - have to find reasons to work overtime and make this my 'Merry Christmas to me' gift)
 
I'm so badly wondering what pricing will be. I don't want to pay full retail for the phone if it's over $600 but I'm in a tough spot. I've used maybe 10 months or 11 months of the 24 year contract I got on the Droid X. So with the $350 ETF, I'll have to pay at least $250 to break that. Pay $299 for the two-year on the SGN.. then $35 activation (heard sometimes it can be waived).

Does anyone know what happens with the data plan? My brother and me split a family plan because he gets a bill discount for being a federal employee. We both have unlimited data plans.. and I'm assuming that his account is grandfathered in to always have unlimited data plans but maybe it isn't. Hoping I don't get stuck with a 2GB data plan for $30. :\

From what I understand it's only the single plan that is grandfathered in. Any new phones/lines on that plan will not be eligible.

Please correct me if I'm wrong.

Data plans are tied to individual phone numbers on Family Plans. I know because I have made many calls about this over the last few months! If your brother goes to no data plan you will keep your unlimited plan as long as there is no break in service, ie, you get a phone on that number that doesn't require a plan. As long as you don't do that, you will have unlimited data on your line.

Edit: In fact, I believe if you split the plan and took your number to an individual plan, you would still have unlimited data...because like I said it's tied to your number.
