BMX suggested in the chat of the AC Podcast that the GSM version will come to other GSM carriers in the US in around 3 months.
The LTE version is VZW-only because it's made with VZW's LTE frequencies.

Thors Hammer was "locked" into that stone. Nobody could remove it. It held too much power for just anyone. They had to be worthy
You're not thinking like the average consumer iowa. Dual core is Dual core is Dual Core is Dual Core. Most of the people buying these phones don't even know what that means.I agree with various sentiment that the Razr will likely sell better than the Nexus although I don't know that it'll be by leaps and bounds, even with all the ad money behind it.
That said, I can't fine one single reason for buying a Razr. Not bashing, I just can't come up with anything when I look at the specs vs Nexus. And I don't think it's a niche device either. First phone to have ICS with better hardware specs than it's supposed rival is a niche? That's just not correct.
yes...lol... You mean like Excalibur? (I haven't seen Thor, in case it's not clear)

Secondly mention ICS, Gingerbread or Froyo to them and their eyes will glaze over. They will not have a clue what the heck you are talking about.
Lastly, put a Nexus device next to an HTC device running Sense in front of the average consumer and watch which one they are more likely to choose.
We get it but most people have no clue what the heck bloat is let alone a SAMOLED + or Pentile LCD.
They are clueless (not stupid, they just don't know or really care)
Manufacturer UI's are what people want. Whether you choose to believe it or not. If that were not the case there would be more Vanilla devices out there. UI's add functionality and flair. People like the bells and whistles. All those bells and whistles are BLOAT to us but to your average consumer they are cool. Most people don't give two poops about Blockbuster or City ID being on their phone. They just don't care because to them if they don't use it it's just sitting there. Big deal.
We obsess and complain about things that your average consumer doesn't even think about. They are perfectly happy. It's just a phone to them. They like them with all the bloat and all.
The Nexus handsets are VERY popular among enthusiast (such as you and others) and not so much mainstream right now. Like I said before it doesn't make it any less than or more than any other handset. It is what it is.
You may be right about sales, but definitely not for that reason. When Joe Blow walks into a Verizon Store, the specs on Verizon paper will be practically the same. Verizon won't put 4460 vs 4430 on the card--it'll just say 1.2 GHz dual core. The screen res will or won't be an issue depending on how they both look. Lack of SD Card or removable battery may be a bigger in store factor than you think. And will the average schmoe know about ICS? Or will thye like the slick look of the Moto widgets? If Verizon puts a Nexus alongside RAZR in the store, with equivalent pricing and specs displayed, I can guarantee you that many non-techies will be swayed away from the "heavily marketed" phone in favor of the "better" one.

I just don't think it will be that simple. Too bad Big Red doesn't advertise sales models by number like Apple does. Really no way to know which one did do better.
I completely agree on most points. The typical consumer doesn't obsess over specs like we do. They'd rather have pizzaz. Explains the legions of people dedicated to Apple products. Almost no Apple product has the latest specs or the best hardware, but they make up for that with flashy looks and charge a hefty premium for it.You're not thinking like the average consumer iowa. If you put these two phones next to another. The average joe will buy the smaller phone.
There's one thing here that those who believe "OEM skin > vanilla" is missing - ICS's UI is nothing like the vanilla of the past. Someone here posted a 9 min video. If you haven't seen it yet, watch it. The UI is outstanding. I'm actually going to run it without a custom launcher, MMS, or browser for the first few weeks. You CAN still customize, but I might not WANT to. It looks THAT good!

EXCELLENT point indeed....Secondly, the 4.65" HD screen will woo many potential buyers, just for that alone. I know several friends who went DX just because the screen was bigger. .
