really, would anyone be surprised at a Black Friday release?! i wouldn't be surprised at all...
Until we hear anything official from Verizon, i'm going with Steven's source. The 17th it is.
really, would anyone be surprised at a Black Friday release?! i wouldn't be surprised at all...
but why go with his source when it's just as unofficial as the telegraph report?
Bottom line, it could be released on December 31st and VZW would not have been caught in a lie.
PS....I wish they would release all 3 phones on the same day that way people can choose what they want. Talk about a huge day for VZW...but that will never happen.
Original Generation. In other words, the very first Motorola Droid.![]()
It basically is. It's the First Moto Droid, released Fall 2009.
The problem with that theory is, Verizon would have to recognize/admit that the GNex will drive in-store business, and actually advertize it as such... Flys in the face of what is the accepted hypothesis here that VZW is not a big fan of this phone.
Quick FYI on this--the guys behind it said they tested through 4000 cleaning cycles with no degradation in performance. Since it has been demonstrated with a GNex like back, should be something worth looking into.My concern would be the "stickiness" of the pad overtime. No matter how careful you are, it'll get dirt, hairs, dust all over it. Can it be washed and restored to it's original state, or do you need to buy a new pad.
Also I'd love to see the insurance claims when your phone smashes into a hundred pieces, they'll tell you yo go -blam- yourself.
Can someone enlighten me on what an "OG Droid" is? I guess I watch too much Sons of Anarchy, because it makes me think it's an "Original Gangster" Droid.![]()
i sorta agree, and still think VZW views the GNex as the red-headed step child. but, it has to be aware of the demand for the device (at least from the dev'r and enthusiast groups), and is also aware that Google and Sammy will mkt the device. as long as they can use that to get people in VZW stores, they can then push people to the RAZR and Re-*gag*... i bet vzw will have some Black Friday deals for its "preferred" phones going on then.
Agree 100%. Black Friday is an orgy of shopping over a 5 hour period. Grab and go big screen TVs and printers, but not phones in store that will require individual sales people touching each one. Small electornics require waaaaayy too much touch labor for inventory control (anti theft). Besides, they would just get lost in the shuffle of all the bright shiny objects for sale.I seriously doubt they will do a black friday release. I talked to a cs rep in a local store about a week ago about this possibility, and he said they did this a year or two ago with a premier phone and it was an absolute disaster; and that corporate vowed they would never have a release on black friday again. If it doesn't come the 17th, there's a possibility it could come weekdays before Thanksgiving, but nearly a 0 percent chance of on Thanksgiving or black friday.
At this point i don't even care what the release date actually is. However what annoys me if not even having a release date set. Sick of waiting for just the info it self.![]()
I think we're all sick of the wait.
Not a good week for us Gnexers news-wise.
Probably, but if that info matched up to anything their other sources have said, they'd have mentioned it.
And they hear lots of things. Like that it was going to be called the Nexus Prime. And that it was coming out November 3. And November 10. And November 17.
It's all BS until Verizon announces it.
On a totally unrelated note, the CDC releases it's zombie preparedness document CultureLab: CDC prepares us for zombie attack this Halloween
On topic, if we had our SGN, we would be able to track the progress of the zombies and save lives!
There is someone on this forum who first referred to his Droid as "OG" and he did indeed mean "Original Gangster". Proof is in the Droid forum; I do remember reading about it.
i've always used it in the Original Gansta sense - Original Generation sounds, well, too geeky...![]()
