Indeed....I was sitting on pins and needles for the SII launch event waiting for the date Verizon would release their version of the SII. That day came and dissappointment ensued. No SII for me. Then news of the Nexus came through and picked me up and now I'm just

First of all, don't get your hopes up for information here, but one of my Geometry students from last year just brought me some google gear. He brings me pens, cups, hats, etc, things like that. His dad works for a google location here in Oklahoma. I asked him if he had heard of the Galaxy Nexus, and he said, yeah, my dad has had one for about a month now, it's his world phone. My eyes got big and I started asking questions.... I told him about this forum and how there are some people that are crazy interested in this phone, told him how the thread has almost 20k posts. I told him to go home and ask his dad if he knows when it is coming to the US and what carriers...he said ok. Not crossing my fingers here, but maybe he'll have some good news for me tomorrow. I also ask him if the screen was cool, and he said it was awesome!!!! I then proceeded to write him a note for being late to his next class....hehe.....and sent him on his way. I'll let you know if I get any info.

100% thats the only reason I actually found the GN, I was all set on the SII, so I figured if this is what VZW skipped it for, I might as well wait for it....and wait....and wait...

As if I weren't hanging on the edge of my seat for this phone enough, Verizon has to send me an email letting me know that 4G coverage is now available in my area. It wasn't even (based on any of the maps I've seen) supposed to be available this year. Thanks for poking the bear with a stick, Verizon.

Yeah at least I have a THunderbolt as my current phone, its really not that bad now that they have fixed all the bugs. Battery life is a little bit of a bummer but otherwise, I like it. But if I am going to upgrade to a phone mid-contract, then I am going all out. And since I HATE Blur (I honestly tried, but every time I have to help my wife with her Droid 3, it is like pulling teeth) GNex it is. (It helps that it truly meets all my major requirements).

Just talked to my dad and he's with AT&T. He gave up on waiting for the Nexus because he was so fed up with his iPhone that he went ahead and bought the SII. Wish I had that option.

It really isn't a bad phone and I don't have to hear her complain about how much she hates her phone (she cursed her Eris and OG Droid out in Italian all the time), so I'm happy she is happy.

Although, right after we get it she watched the video of Ice Cream Sandwich with me and said, "Ooooh, I think I might want that."

Thats what some us know about internet info on phone releases. We got inside stuff and it never happened.

I am an Industrial Engineering major and one thing that I have learned is that a big cost for companies is the cost of holding inventory. Don't you think Verizon will want to start moving those phones ASAP rather than have them sit in the warehouse?

I'll bet she loves her Blackberry. If she's as hardcore as the Blackberry users I know (some doctors I know will have no part of anything else), then to her Android and iPhone are just not relevant.

My wife had a Blackberry Curve, it was a piece of junk and she will tell you so. But the Droid 3 is wasted on her. She really just needs a feature phone. cause all she does is text. I have her on a grandfathered 150MB plan and she doesn't even use that...
