***Official Galaxy Nexus Pre-Release speculation thread**

I posted earlier and got no reply so I will throw it out there again... Verizon is supposedly getting the phones in their warehouse this week. I am an Industrial Engineering major and one thing that I have learned is that a big cost for companies is the cost of holding inventory. Don't you think Verizon will want to start moving those phones ASAP rather than have them sit in the warehouse?

One example in the past was the Samsung Fascinate showing up in Verizon's Warehouse database on August 26th, 2010 ...as reported by Phandroid actually.
Samsung Fascinate Launch Drawing Near?

That phone was released on September 9th, 2010. If that means anything, then we know Verizon is able to retrieve shipments to their warehouse at least two weeks before release...more or less.

That really doesn't say anything about the situation now or any changes to their process (the fascinate WAS a year ago). Nor is it definitive of how long they are willing to hold inventory vs. willingness to pay the cost of holding them there for a certain amount of time.

Actually today hasn't been a great day. First, no news about the phone. Also, I just got a text message that a friend who was battling cancer passed away today. (No, I'm not joking.)

Guess I'm blue.

Han life is so much more than this thread or the Nexus, you lost a friend today and that will require you to reflect on his life and your own. Take some time away from this place...tell your wife and loved ones how much they mean to you...show them how much they mean to you.

I am sure we will all be here if and when you feel up to coming back to the crazy place this thread can be sometimes.

Take care....:)

Well if this holds true and they receive them this week then maybe we will see it on the 17th. It would be nice.

What I think we all need to do is get our minds off the release date, and feel some (healthy) anger towards stupid people:

Why Siri Is a Google Killer - Forbes

I feel as if we'd all benefit from blowing off a little steam on something other than Verizon :D

I especially liked the disclosure at the end, he is long APPL. Its true in so many ways. I bet he can't wait for that 3rd party app that uses Siri's talents in... other ways.

People, read this article, and then understand why friends don't let friends buy apple.

Thanks for the distraction. My co-worker has a 4S and I played with it a lot. While it is actually fun to toy around with I just don't get the hype. It's nothing more than Google Voice Search mixed with Wolfram Alpha minus navigation. Am I missing something?

Please help me here - how are Apple and Siri responsible for the downfall of RIM? Did I miss info somewhere? And I'm not too worried about it being the 'beginning of the end' for Google either. Just my $0.02

Yeah it was so over the top biased its not even funny. Android has been taking 2/3rds at least of RIM's business lately.

LOL, how can anyone read that and take it serious? Oi. That's like a sportcaster gushing over their favorite team, when they're supposed to remain objective.

I'm despondent. No news today means no news tomorrow. Or the rest of the week. Or the rest of the month.

Good bye everyone. For good. I'm off this crazy-train.

Babyblues, it was nice to have known you. Keep those undergarments clean.

Dawnierae, I appreciate the moral support and banter back and forth in PMs.

OTD, I thank you for the recipes. I shall try one of them tonight.

Steven, thank your Love Tunnel for me when you see him next. Try not to get the leakage all over yourself.

EarlyMon, thanks for being my hero on occasion.

Chief, thanks for the conspiracy theories. I love crazy people.

CK, um, good bye.

Leave? LEAVE? This forum is much like the Hotel California...you can check out any time you like, but you can never leave. I do not accept your departure.

Roosevelt was right.... stupid people!

@BabyBlue: I too would like someone to explain how the fruit company caused RIM to fail... from what I observed they did it to themselves... failing to keep up with the competition....
