the more you guys let vzw know how much (and how many of) you want the phone, the longer they will make you wait because they now know you WILL wait. so they're not afraid of losing sales. #occupyvzw

Good Morning GNexers. So today is Rezound announcement day (Although we are all hoping HTC came to their senses ;) and renamed it back to Vigor.) I know everyone is thinking Black Friday or later, but I am still sticking to 11/10 pre-order date, with 11/17 soft release. Which means we are only a week away from being able to put down our monies and reserve ourselves the best phone of the year (at least on Verizon).

My prediction is 1/5/12. Or later

Really? Verizon stated it will release this year. The latest news shows an ad push starting on or after black friday. Latest MAP shows 11/10. BMX says GNex is already in warehouses. What evidence have you seen that would yield a prediction of 1/5/12?

When do reviews for new phones usually come out? Before or after release?

I'm really looking forward to two reviews: Lisa from Mobile Tech Review and the guys from GSM Arena.

None just picking a date that I think it will release on. Note I'm not trying to start a rumor.Just like picking a date when a baby will be born.

I woke up this morning to this link in my Google Search email notifications:

Galaxy Nexus (Prime) Verizon not "delayed"

While I question the insider's choice of leaking to PopHerald (why not something with a bigger impact factor, like Phandroid or droid-life?)....if this is true it suggests a couple of things to me.
1) Verizon/Google/Sammy are aware of and responding to the negativity surrounding their U.S. launch (this has "strategic/sanctioned damage control leak" written all over it.
2) There is a firm release date for Verizon (I wasn't sure even Verizon knew when they were going to launch it).
3) It is coming in November. This rules out a 12/1 release date, which I had kind of speculated since I highly doubt they will release this phone on Thanksgiving or Black Friday. This leaves Monday the 28th or Thursday the 17th as prime dates in my book. If Verizon really goes with the 14th for the Rezound (which we should find out today), that leaves open the possibility of another Monday launch for the G-Nex (28th, or 21st I guess, which matches the suggested release date of "official" accessories found online), but if they stick with their Thursday launches, it may suggest the 17th. Who knows, but thought I'd share.

If they go with a 14th release for the rezound, the earlier tip that razr 10th, rezound 14th, and 17th gnex is probably right....right now, I'm leaning 80% 17th, 19% wishing for the tenth, and 1% of me is an angry little elf who doesn't like fun.

Tomorrow is thursday - Verizon does releases on thursday - so I believe some people are thinking after we hear about the Rezound tomorrow from HTC that Verizon might be more inclined to announce a release for the Gnex.

I believe we won't hear anything official from VZW about GNex until after 11/10. I just don't see them doing anything that would effect RAZR's launch day. However today's expected HTC announcement kind of blows that theory.

Who knows? So about that SGSIII...

Mods, you should get a front page here at Phandroid for:
https://twitter.com/#!/search/realtime/%40verizonwireless%20nexus

Just a thought.

Haha, just had a look at those. At first I was really excited with the popular demand for the G-Nex...then I saw it was only one page of tweets and my heart sank a little. Most of those tweets were polite, but many of them were kind of embarrassing. Hordes of people saying: "Verizon, give me Nexus NOW!" somehow came off a little childish and entitled. I think it's great for us to express our interest in the device and to let Verizon know we don't want to be manipulated, but let's stay cool about it, please.

I do believe this is the first leak that rules out December. I find this good news. Most of the delay talk has been centered around the release of the advertising schedule I believe. But that is JUST advertising, not a release schedule, so like I said in my first post, I am still personally leaning towards it being available on 11/17.

Also keep in mind, for the Majority of Verizon phones, when they don't do a preorder, the days from announcment to release is usually 3 days or less, so you probably aren't going to get a lot of time to wait if they don't plan on doing a preorder. So even if it gets to the 14th, 15th, or 16th.....it's still possible, it launches on 17th day of the mighty November.

Reading that I'm not convinced it was a sanctioned leak. Not that it matters because it is a step in the right direction. But, IMO, it reads more like someone at Samsung knows people are frustrated and wanted to start least give everyone SOMETHING.

Yeah, I am afraid the whole "occupy" thing has devolved into a general childish and entitled behavior trigger. I wish the parallel hadn't been made regarding the Nexus release twitter campaign.

I do buy that Samsung would be the most likely to leak something like this. It is their baby, and while they obviously have an agreement with VZW to keep quiet, they HAVE to be excited about this phone coming out on Verizon, especially with the grassroot enthusiasm being shown.

The announcement doesn't really point to a release beyond, "it's coming soon." The GNex announced weeks ago but a release date has still not been given. Maybe HTC has Verizon on board with this one and they will give a date. I guess we'll find out later.
