Once Upon a Time is my number #2 favorite show! Getting total LOST vibes, from the smoke monster coming out of the Queen's spell fire last week, to the flashbacks and almost-recognition this week!!

On topic:

I'm going by AT&T to take a look at the SpaceRocketMan thingy and also by Verizon to see the RAZR, after work.

But just to look, that's all.

From my experience the common Verizon emploee wouldn't have access to this kind of info. If they did we would likely hear about it in advance. Again from the places I've worked the common employees usually only get training and become aware of this kind of stuff the day before or the day of.

Bottom line?: I'm trying to get to the bottom line.

I admit my experience isn't from cellular companies though....

Or not at all and just wing it, based on some of my experiences.

I had to bring my mother's phone into the techs on Saturday because the actual phone stopped working (it would dial but couldn't hear anything). While we were there I was asked 4 times if I wanted to see if I could upgrade to the RAZR early, yes, I was standing in the store playing with my phone so they knew which one I had and guess they figured they could do an early one for me to get the commision. I told them I was waiting for the Nexus and got blank stares from 3 out of 4. The 4th said he thought he had heard something in passing but wasn't sure if it was a phone or a reference to a movie/tv show.

*facepalm*

Ha. I have to be fair though, when I bought my thunderbolt, I had someone who knew their stuff, I actually asked if he frequented any forums, but he just reads the tech site reviews for his info. Still, had to commend him, as he did that on his own volition.

Wait...is Verizon really doubling data allowances on all their tiered packages? I can't find any other links confirming this. If this is true, holy crap, it's a dream come true! Also, will they double automatically or do I need to change my 2gb plan to the new $30 4gb one?

December 1 is looking more real.
The 17th is still alive in my mind. They haven't really been anything solid enough to change my mind on that. I guess I could see the 21st online release if they really wanted to give time for the RAZR and the Rezound to sell first...

I just have a really hard time imagining that they would miss out on possible sales for the Black Friday rush.

Everything I've seen indicates you need to call customer service to have it increased.

Steven any idea how long it usualy takes for your source to get back to you? We're getting restless...

Here's what is going to happen either:

1) It'll never going to get back to me or..
2) It'll get back to me with an apology for having been busy..

I'm getting restless too. I told it that the "natives were getting restless". It's not in my hands, at this point.

From what I have read, for people with LTE phones, they are doing this in the month of Nov. New and exisiting customers who buy or already have an LTE phone, can get their data allowance doubled. Nice little promo, and should help to sell a few more android phones over the competition, as none of the others have LTE.

But make sure that this doesn't start a new 2 year contract when you change it. (My friend had to up her data plan over the weekend as well and was told by 2 separate stores it would renew her 2 years when she did that).

My boss (female) came to me about a month ago b/c I'm the "tech guru" aka staff geek and asked me about upcoming smartphones. I did all the research for her. I gave her pricing plans across carriers. I showed her the iPhone 4S, Galaxy Nexus, Razr, Rezound, I told her about the Galaxy S II, etc. After all of my research for her, all of the articles I sent her, all of the advice I sent her after EVERYTHING I did for her, she walks into my room today smiling and said she bought her new phone this weekend. She was VERY excited about it. She was in Circuit City (I didn't even know those were around anymore) and picked up the Droid Incredible 2 and fell in love with it. She said the kicker was she got it for FREE!!! I told her that she should have gotten it for free, it's 7 months old. She said she loved the way it fit in her hand perfectly. Of course it was all that I could do to pretend to be happy for her. I helped her sync all of her accounts and set it up. She walked away happy as could be. She won't need a new phone again for another 2 years and she won't even know that she missed out on anything.

I think that is how it is with 98% of the population. They walk in, pick up a phone or two, play with it for a few minutes and choose; and they are happy. Genuinely happy with their phones.

It drives me nuts! ;)

While I do not share this attitude (my whole family has it), I do understand it. They are not tech geeks. They are happy, and in the end that is all that matters. To be fair, if your boss was looking for a phone the size of the DINC2, then that was her only real choice.

I cannot afford to be annoyed by this attitude, because it is the reason I can get the GNex. My sister has my old DINC (she loves it), and I get her upgrade (used my last one but 7 months ago for the TBolt). Also, more phones for me :)

I guess my summary is that if it makes people happy, I am all for it. It makes my technologically inept mother happy to have an iPhone (she likes the "clear" layout of the grid homescreen, etc) so I was the one who bought it for her and helped set it up. I would never do the same for myself, but I would also never want kids, so who am I to really question my mother's choices? :p

Must be having a lazy day, using it instead of typing the usual he/she. Thanks for the attempts though.

I agree, its the 17th unless there are major supply issues from Samsung.

That sounds like BS. It was covered somewhere else in this thread that the data plan is just a feature that you can add and remove as needed. Unfortunately you will lose your unlimited plan if you have one.

But make sure that this doesn't start a new 2 year contract when you change it. (My friend had to up her data plan over the weekend as well and was told by 2 separate stores it would renew her 2 years when she did that).

From what I have seen from AndroidandMe, this change to 4 GB for 30 either A. might be permanent or B. last until January 15th. They will be offering a 20 dollar/300 MB plan for people who dont want to spend 30, and this document states that will end on 1/15/11.

So, if this holds true, us new people who are going over to VZW for the Nexus found ourselves going from 2 GB for 30/month to 4 GB for 30/month (if the phone is out by 1/15/11....which it should be!). :D

Release date may be in question but at least the glass is half full :D:D yay for more data!

Oh this is only a promotional thing, as in it won't be available forever? I thought they just finally realized that 2gb of data for $30 on a 4g phone was BS. So that means that 3 months down the road, if I determine I want to move to the $50 plan, they will only give me 5gb of data for that price (once this promotion ends)?

I think I just got sick in my mouth a little bit.

At this point I'd be happy with a side-by-side shot of the Euro and US versions to see the difference in thickness.

Well once you have a specific plan, you can keep it as long as you like. (My wife is still grandfathered in on the $15 150MB plan she got with her blackberry) So if you get the $30/mo plan during the promo, you will get 4GB. But yeah when the promo ends, it becomes very cost ineffective if you need more. $20 more for only an extra GB.

Lol at Verizon. Greedy pigs. They are offering the $30 for 2gb bc they're making a profit. Imagine the profit on $20 for 300mb!! Crazy

Edit: they're also doing just fine with the $30 for 4gb promo to give even more perspective.
