fixed. ;)

But a "thank you" is much more pleasant than simply hitting a button, don't you think? Or at the very least they should sometimes go together.

That giddy feeling you get when your post is thanked is purely euphoric. So yes, both would give a sensation not fit to describe amongst younger viewers.

Kidding folks. :)

But man, it was really HOT.

That is just seriously disturbing, all the way around.

I don't recall AMOLED screens running that hot, and I've said how to expect reasonable coolness based on my dual core.

There were a lot of initial complaints on high heat when the SGS2 came out, people without the problem were starting flame wars on it (no pun intended, implied, or made).

Known top sources of heat in a cellphone, in no order: processor SoC, 4G radio SoC, and battery.

Might indicate a software bug, i.e. CPU's not shutting off or something.

One thing it absolutely indicates is wasted energy which means less battery life... (not good)

Good HOT or bad HOT??? ;)

Hot. Really hot. Unpleasantly hot. Uncomfortably hot. I was shocked.

I don't see how they let this through. I couldn't understand why these two Razrs were hot, one was uncomfortably so, and the other was just hot. None of other phones in the stores were hot. Other phones' screens were on but none of them were hot, though. Strange.

I assuming they weren't sitting in the direct sunlight? I know is a silly question.

And here is proof they taunt us:
(sorry the pic is so big)

Isn't good for silicon lifetime, either - and in fact, isn't good for battery life in either sense - at that time with respect to charge, or for long-term lifetime.

I think this may be one that they don't ship early. They are marketing this 11/11 thing too big to have people getting them early.

That was one of the reasons I canceled my preorder. What's the point of having it ship on the 10th and having to chase down FedEx or UPS at some point in time when I can just stroll into the store early on my day off then anyway and get it likely earlier than the preorderers? The other reason I held off is that I wanted to see more in-depth reviews as well as hope that some sort of firm Nexus release date news appears before I grow old. As it is, a whole slew of phones with better specs than even the leaked HTC Edge should be coming in the next few months. If Nexus makes me wait too long, then I might have to *shudder* reconsider.

Maybe with such a thin design, and a metal/kevlar casing, the phone is producing as much heat as any other phone, but it's got to come out somewhere?

The one that I handled wasn't as hot as you're describing. It wasn't like a stove top that left marks on my fingers. But yes, it was quite uncomfortable. I kept thinking that this phone isn't going to last very long.

4430 being overclocked + thin phone = less distance between hot stuff and screen, Yeah I am not surprised.

Its not a 4430 overclocked though -- its just a normal 4430 running at 1.2GHz which is its normal clock speed.

fail.

How huge will it be if the components won't even last the 1 year warranty due to the heat?

4430 is not overclocked....heat can't comment on. Wasn't my experience. warm yes hot nope

dawnyrae was right. They are not releasing the RAZR early via pre-order. They will arrive friday...grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr Roaarrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr
