The thing I really don't understand is what is the upside for Verizon, Google...etc to keep quite? While those of us posting here will diligently wait for the second it is announced, most people will just get whats in the store. If it is Verizon, why would Google not step up and do some PR for its line? There is a lot that will attract the average person to this phone and with a little support from Google, it could overcome Verizon's seeming favoritism toward the Vigor(it is the better name) and the RAZR easily.

Look at the leaked spec comparison. Rezound is third.

Wow, the game just got a bit more interesting on verizon if this is true;
Droid 4 may be closer to release than expected, thanks to a leaked pic from Verizon's systemsAndroidGuys

For now, please take with a large rock of salt.

Here's your salt

I am reminded of what my friend (also an attorney, but on the civil side) told me regarding the opening of his firm. A couple of years ago, "Acme" Law Firm was finally set to open. My friend wasn't a partner, but was excited about being an associate there because the head of the firm is a very well known and hugely successful lawyer. Anyway, the official opening was going to be at a party hosted in a huge space on the top floor of the Chicago Public Library (it's gorgeous up there). The party was planned well in advance, and it was decided that there would be a lot of advertising for the firm at the party. The guy's huge mug was going to be everywhere. Anyway, what ended up happening was that 2 days before the event was scheduled, the print place made this gigantic banner and a bunch of signs that had the top guy's name in the same sized font as the partner's names, and it didn't stand out very well. The top guy got so pissed that he postponed the party for the following weekend so that the signs could be remade and sized appropriately. When explaining the cancellation to the invited guests, he sent out a mass email saying that the Library screwed up the scheduling and that he was considering suing them!

The point of my story is that we have no freaking idea, and we can't possibly have any freaking idea, on the details regarding a launch. It could be one guy at the very top, who doesn't like something about the way the launch is planned, and he scraps it until it's up to his standards. Bigger and smaller things have been postponed or cancelled for such trivial and idiotic reasons.

This is my biggest concern, as several early reviews talk about the heat. Even if the device components are designed to handle the heat without shortening the life of the device, it seems it would still be uncomfortable to use.

What did you think of the case construction?

The case was fine. Usual moto build. The thinness made the wideness feel weirder to me.

But man, it was really HOT.

Google is halting the release of the Asus Transformer Prime so that it will have ICS upon release. The way SGN is being handled Prime might be first to the market with ICS.

I thought Google said that SGN will be the first Android device to ship with ICS. If that is so they lied to us. :(

For those put off by the amazon UK pushback to Dec 2nd I have an idea. I would assume most people in the UK also buy their phone on contract from a carrier rather than off contract (like folks in the US do?) If so then google/sammy have seen the anticipation swell for the GNex and have pushed back the date for amazon so they can get more units for carriers (or operators as those in the UK are called). So its likely still on for the 17th in the UK and thus we shouldn't worry.

My other problem is now that P3 has shown he is using the LTE model he cant tell us what battery life is like... lame.

I wish I knew where P3 lives so I could kick him in the nuts and steal his GNX I would share battery results with you all here
but I would have to hide the battery results with the hide feature:D

Maybe I am prejudiced, but I have no desire to even look at the RAZR in person. I don't like the styling AND it is a Motorola and my Droid X has turned me off of Motorolas for the time being.

I wish Verizon would end my suffering and release the Nexus already....

I don't like Moto - end of story.

The mad rush for 24K now, huh?

Didn't even realize we were that close.
