8. Ice Cream Sandwich has a cool "quick response" feature for incoming calls.

Ever get a call and don't feel like answering? Ice Cream Sandwich's new "quick response" system lets you send a canned message right from the incoming call screen to the person trying to reach you. This way, you can let them know why you aren't answering -- telling them "I'm in a meeting and will get back to you later," for example, or "Get out of my life, you annoying twit."

For some reason that just seems so cool to me. What an intuitive feature, I can't believe more phones / OS haven't had something like this before.

I don't think it's going to stop any of us! Can't be nearly as bad as the ReZound with it's 1620?mAh battery. I would prefer 1850, but 1750 isn't going to make me flinch.
Yeah, what's with a 1620mAh battery in that phone? It's seriously thicker than my wallet, how can it be such a tiny battery???

idk if that is sarcasm, but my env touch has that feature and its almost 2 years old.

It really is a cool feature. I believe it was also a part of symbian (nokia n97).

I think my favorite part about ICS so far has to be the new multitasking menu...it looks beautiful, the ease and simplicity is astounding, and again, it is BEAUTIFUL! I tip my hat to Android for this one. ICS is an absolute wonder!

Long time lurker (since creation of this thread) and finally decided to take initiative and sign up after Steven's little inspirational speech a couple pages back though :D
I cannot wait for this phone! I have to refrain from throwing my thunderbolt out the window every day this phone isn't released! It's been acting up because it knows it's being replaced soon...

I think earlier there was a discussion of the colors of the notification led. The colors I remember reading were white, red, yellow, and green I think? I didn't see anyone mention purple though. Over on gsmarena there is a screenshot where the notification led is flashing purple, just thought I'd let you know.

Just thought I would poke my head in and see whats doing and catch up on all that I missed. G'night all. Hoping the 10th brings us good news.

This, like quite a few ICS features, have been present in MIUI for a really, really long time haha. However, it's nice to see it finally crop up on a stock OS.

my NV2 has that and i've yet to use it in the 10 years i've had this phone. ok...it just feels like 10 at this point. but also, what if it's a land line, or someone that doesn't get txt

And the first phone with ICS is not the GNex anymore: AT&T Samsung Galaxy S II MIUI Ice Cream Sandwich ROM now Available | AndroidSPIN

Great! Happy now, verizon?

This is made from the ICS framework and is not ICS. This was similar to other roms that have come out lately.

ICS from independent devs won't be out until ICS is in the AOSP code repository - and that happens after the Gnex releases.

Nothing to see there, srsly, unless you like MIUI and want a new theme.

I honestly think HTC does it on purpose to sell extended batteries. Think about the current Thunderbolt promotion, everyone who buys one gets a free extended battery. That is a lot of extended batteries, they wouldn't have made that many if it was just a niche item. Its part of the market plan I believe.

And with that, good (and I mean, really really really good) morning to you GNexers! Yesterday was a fantastic day, we learned the battery life is excellent (although we ARE trusting P3 about that ;)...), cases showed up in the Verizon store, and Steven and The Source reassured us of the 17th.

AND to top it off, some personal good news. I got in to work today and turned my phone screen on, to see I am connected to LTE! They are clearly testing it, as it is not really connecting well, but at least I know I will have it when it goes live in a week, or less! Just in time for the GNex. Man I am psyched about next week. Hope everyone has as good a start to the day as me :)

Good morning everyone! Got up extra early this morning in hopes that we get some kinda official news from Verizon, or maybe even a preorder! Today is the 10th, that magical number we saw on all of the various leaked MAP documents, yesterday was a great day for info, I'm feeling like today will be the same!
