I'm going with online as well as I will not be able to leave work or come in late. It will suck all day knowing that my phone is waiting at home and other people get to play with theirs all day.

However, if a phone could be held for me on launch day and I could swoop it at lunchtime AND keep the sales peoples grubby paws off it then I would be a happy Detroider.

OT: I waited in line outside a store for the BB Storm back in the day and the thing that sucked was I was 8th in line and it took forever to get my phone.

Me too, also a Detroider. I realized on the way home the storm sucked, but tried to convince myself that it would get better. never again will I stand in line for a phone. (plus I make boatloads more money now, so it wouldn't be in my best interest to do so anyway;))
 
I'm trying to convince my sister the get the SGN with me instead of the iphone4.

Can anyone link me a good youtube review video I can send her?
 
I think I'd prefer to go to the store to get it, only because our doorman stinks. We've had stuff stolen before because he'll sign for it and then place it on the desk and walk down the street for lunch.
 
im torn I might preorder it might go to the store......I really don't know yet. i will probably pre order though to avoid dealing with the people at the verizon store, I also have to flash my incredible with rsd lite to start it fresh to give to my mom. Would be easier to do that before i activate the gnex so i can update the software to the latest and everything for her.
 
So if they release the SGN at midnight eastern time online and someone in Hawaii orders it, does that mean they got it one day earlier... Just asking

Yeah I'd get it delivered to my office where UPS/Fedex come REALLY early in the morning and I get my stuff pretty quickly because I am on the first floor.

My boss knows its coming out -- nothing would get done that day.

My mother is getting my phone but she keeps asking if it will be ok because 'You've played with it so much'. I said yes, I will put a stock rom on and you won't even know I've done anything. *Blank stare*
Ok - I'll make it a system you know how to work. *dubious look*

OT: Just read from the twitterverse that the RAZR is not selling well in stores at all. This tells me that VZW will want to sell something that will be very popular that a lot of people have been waiting for. Yes, you guessed it---the iphone 5:D

haha exactly....i haven;t used rsd lite in awhile though so that should be fun. I used it twice with my OG Droid because i couldn't boot back into recovery the screen would just turn white and get super hot if i didn't battery pull.
 
Oh, one more thing, the store was DEAD. An hour after launch. And when I walked in there was no one at the RAZR. Although the guy that walked in behind me went there too. But it was lunch time, normally it is busier in that store just because, there were 4 employees just standing there, and they didn't even make me check in, just sent me straight to an employee.
 
I'm thinking pre order on Nov.15 and store release on Nov. 21.
^^ Just a gut feeling....

If so I will pre order for a Friday delivery (Nov. 18).:)

I've got both my BB Storm and OG Droid sitting on my desk still. Kept them as backups..lol.

This could actually be a bad thing for us...

VZW could decide to hold off on the GN to try and get more RAZR sales :/

I might have to try to wait for the 21st then and make it an awesome day. Yes, call me a dork or whatever - my phone and the new Nickelback on the same day would 'twist em till they fell off'. :D

I think you're overestimating how much Verizon favors the RAZR over the SGN. The only reason they've been so silent about the SGN is because they have to give the RAZR at least an equal opportunity to sell well, so they spaced it out. I think now that the RAZR pressure is off of them, they'll focus on their second flagship, the Rezound, and finally, on the 15th, we'll finally get some Nexus love. I don't think Verizon's as ambivalent about it as it seems, because they've stopped ignoring my Galaxy Nexus tweets. Sure, they just tell me to sign up for updates, but it's better than nothing.

I think you're right. Don't forget VZW likely paid Samsung/Google to make this an exclusive. If they didn't really care about the phone, or were peeved because of the lack of bloat, they would have just wanted a GS2
 
If a very soft launch is in the cards, meaning quiet online release with no fanfare, I think we should come up with a code phrase so that "outsiders" (meaning RAZR owners, tech site researchers, etc.) don't know what we're talking about, so we don't get problems with a sell out.

If I'm the first one to discover that the SGN is for sale online, I will say the following:

I've just been in the Trafford Centre (Manchester Uk) went in every phone shop, not one sales assistant had a clue what I was talking about.

There was one shop (phones4u) had a 5 foot picture of the Galaxy nexus in the window so I went in and enquired if they had a display model of the "Nexus"

"Yes, one moment" he replied.

Then proceeded to bring me a Nexus S, when I advised him that's not the nexus I was referring to and pointed to the picture he gazed blankly at it.

Either they're completely dumb, or they dont know.....
