***Official Galaxy Nexus Pre-Release speculation thread**

To add to this mess, Verizon really does keep their employees in the dark completely to a lot of launches. My CSR told me that they had virtually no time with the Rezound, it was merely shipped to the store and they put it on the shelves, that was the extent of it. This will likely be the case with the Nexus I have a feeling. He didn't at all act negative about the fact that corporate has not given them any warning and said that the 17th was still as good a guess as any, granted that was on Monday so his tune may have changed.

BTW, it was stated in another thread by a former marketing employee with another company, that "w/o" with regards to marketing generally means "week of," not "web only." This looks to be the most likely case in my opinion, meaning there's a decent chance we could see it some time next week.

People, here's the truth many of us aren't willing to accept. All of you who are talking to csr's and reps that say maybe we'll have it this week or early next week, do you actually believe that they all could know something this big without a big time leak occurring by now??? No chance

When I went to Verizon tonight to pick up the Razr of course I asked the sales rep who helped about the Nexus. I really didn't expect much except for a canned answer and she immediately says "yes it was delayed " I asked her if that's just something she had read online and she said no it was supposed to launch with the Rezound. She acted as if she was holding something back when i pressured her about it but I couldn't quite tell what it was. I made it perfectly clear that I would be back to exchange if the Nexus is out within the return period.
Oh she was the assistant manager.

So, how many people have jumped ship for the rezound or the razr?
How many are on the ledge waiting to jump ship? I know I am....

Greetings! I went by the store and played with the HTC device for a while, and that screen is beautiful!

However, I was disappointed in the Sense experience. I got a little bit of lag on the phone at times, and I blame it on the giant turd they dumped on it.

I also asked the store rep about the Nexus, and he said that they are expecting it at the end of the week. I got all excited and asked him what day, and he said he wasn't sure, but "that's what all the blogs are saying."

I didn't see a lag. re: blogs. lol.

I really do believe these people that say their Verizon reps/store managers told them end of the week. I HOPE that they know something we don't.

I was in Costco the other day, just kind of standing there looking over the Razr. It was one of those non-working ones, but he started talking up the Razr and that he could have one delivered to me by today if I wanted to order.

I told him I was waiting around for the Galaxy Nexus, if he's ever heard of that. He said, "Yeah I know exactly what you are talking about....um, check back with me at the end of this week, and I can tell you then if we have it then. But when it does come you'll want to get it here because of our return policy and bundles."

The fact that he had to say "check back with me at the end of the week" either indicates that he knows something is up, or he reads all the internet rumors as well. He didn't look like the type though. So who knows.

I have faith that we will hear SOMETHING tomorrow.
Hate to burst the bubble, but we have info from a very reliable member here, who is also a Costco store manager that stated the GNex will be delivery only from stores. You can buy it there and have it delivered, but they are getting zero in stock. Some people may like that option given the extra deals (supposedly $289) and warranty that Costco provides.

So if you go into a Costco at the end of the week, don't expect to walk out of the store with one.

For those of you really need a phone now and cannot wait, I really would agree with the source and recommend the HTC Rezound. The screen is clearer has more resolution is not as wide and it feels better in the hand. I'm comparing it to the razr by the way. Then when the galaxy nexus comes out you can exercise your option if you feel that the galaxy nexus is an upgrade. You'll just have to pay the $35 restocking fee, of course.

Me? I just got a refurbished droid X in the mail today. It is running so much faster and more smooth than my droid X that am even wondering if I need to upgrade at all.

I got a refurb DX a few months ago...the smoothness wears off and it turns into the same old tired DX, at least mine did.

Well, this is my second time. The hype, mystery and anxiety over the HTC Incredible was every it as high as with this phone. We had a mega thread that people from all over the internet came to for info. It was fun. I don't really find all this painful. I find it to be fun. It's exhilarating! I'm honored, not only to be part of it, again, but to be a main driver of it. :)

I found the Incredible mega-thread to be much more stressful (and often even faster-moving!) than this one. Guess we've learned that vzw does a decent job of keeping things hush until they want it to be known.

I've learned a tip from that experience - sometimes when I was getting so anxious I was blowing off work to f5 a forum, I'd imagine if I did have the phone in my hand, "Now what?". Really, you play for a few minutes and go back to life, rather anti-climatic actually.

The only thing that concerns me about tomorrow's event is that the teaser images sent in the email invitations show T-Mobile, and I doubt they would announce anything Verizon Nexus-related at a T-Mobile/Music event... but who knows, maybe Verizon will come out with a release date on the same day, but unrelated to the event.

I can possibly see them trying to one-up the T-Mobile thing (although doubtful), but no way will they announce at that event.

Anyone know what ties Google music has to T-Mobile? My guess is since they got in-app purchases working on T-Mobile, probably in App music purchases.

So... For those of us keeping score at home... You're NOT changing your name to HanZolo now???

The GNex has to come on Monday. My wife isn't even talking to me anymore. As soon as I came home from work I fired up the laptop (not even worth trying my OG Droid) and have been catching up on the 1,000 posts since last night. Soon as the laptop fired up, she stopped talking to me. She just doesn't get it.
Seriously Verizon - is a few more Razr and Rezound sales worth someone's marriage.

Come on!!!!!!

Wait, I have a question...When you fired up the laptop did your wife really stop talking to you or did you just stop hearing her?

Not me. My incredible has been running Gingerbread since January and I have no interest in going back to Sense or experimenting with Blur. New hardware is nice, but it's all about the software for me so I'll wait as long as I have to for a fresh taste of ICS.
