If you are an avid DL comment peruser, then you may have stumbled upon this comment from a reader who suggests that a white version of the Galaxy Nexus will be out some time in February. I

Nothing yet, huh?

Well, out of court for the time being.

Saw these comparisons of screens which I found interesting:

Superiority of HTC Device over RAZR:

Superiority of SGN over SGSII:

Man, and the SGSII screen looks good to me. The wait is getting unbearable, all these glowing reviews. I am starting to get nervous about getting one, I hope they don't sell out before I get mine.

From the live interview:

A: Huge change. Very different. Much better. Makes Gingerbread look like Android 1.0.

Q: How big of a change is it from Gingerbread? I switched from the G2x to the HD7 because I got bored with how plain Android looked at times.

I will miss my swype too. They will likely do a release. They have a honeycomb version so i would think it wont be too long before a new beta comes out. I hope. Although I do like the looks and functionality of this new keyboard.

Same here. And Swype is not exactly quick with the updates....

I have to question it, because they did side by side low-light comparos of the GNex and iPhone 4S, and the GNex was WAY better. We had a decent discussion about it here 400 pages ago ;). So not sure, perhaps he had a defective one...

Maybe he left the protective plastic over the lens

Even just for screen shots and online videos, ICS looks so much more fluid and well designed -- they put a lot more thought into the aesthetics this time around I think. If he's this excited about it, I'm even more pumped!

IMO the black looks MUCH better.

agreed. i love the sleekness of the jet black. the verge review put it nicely... the screen just seems to fall off into your hand.

never been a fan of white anywho. the oakleys, the iphone, the headphones... they all look fake, and a little like candy honestly. to each, his own.

No swype really? I cant get by without it...please tell me it will work after the GN is rooted?!?!

It probably won't be as long as you think until it gets upgraded to ICS -- could always just wait for that to happen in a few months if it's that big of a deal. I'm not a swipe fan so it doesn't affect me - come to think of it, I can't think of anything that would be a deal breaker or make me delay my purchase :p But I can understand how some might have those issues.

Can anyone tell me what "BB" means. I've seen a lot of you guys using it in the thread. I tried to find it in the FAQ/Guide but wasn't listed. Thanks for the help

BB can mean one of three things, Most likely they are refering to the member "BabyBlues", though they could also mean Best Buy or BlackBerry...

Hope this helps! :)

I had no idea that the difference between the RAZR and the Rezound was that pronounced. Wow. Just wow.
I'm not surprised that the SGN screen is sharper than the GS2, after all, the GS2 is only WVGA, which is "even" less than qHD.

What I really want to see is a Rezound vs. SGN comparison.

When I played with the HTC in the store, I was very impressed by the gorgeous screen. It's amazing. Seeing it compared with the RAZR, though, was shocking.

I wouldn't be surprised if the HTC slightly beats out the SGN on screen, because the HTC has a higher ppi than even the iPhone. I think it's around 342 ppi.

But I doubt you'll be able to really tell in most situations.

I notice that the both of you Swype lovers are using the Incredible. I too am a lover of swype and I use a Desire, same size as the Incredible's screen. Maybe I'm just used to the smaller screen size (I can swype without looking with fair accuracy) but I've found swype to be a lot less useful on larger screens. I'm sure swype will add support for it, but we might not even miss it that much.

HA! my BF has those white oakleys. and an iPhone (almost got the white one, haha) They do look like nice shiny plastic candy - but for me, that's why I like white sometimes

More like it will work once Swype updates it to be compatible with ICS. Might be something minor. They do have a Honeycomb version after all.

That said, my guess is it's not an ICS issue, but a resolution issue.

Oh, don't get me wrong.

I know, I can Swype in my sleep...and apparently have. They got really creative with honeycomb and different sized keyboards...i can only hope...

I use swype on my rooted nook, and love it on that device too!
Maybe because I never learned to type properly?

I agree with this. The larger the screen of the device, the less I feel swype is helpful. On the bigger phones I think swype becomes more trouble than it's worth (for me at least)
