It probably won't be as long as you think until it gets upgraded to ICS -- could always just wait for that to happen in a few months if it's that big of a deal. I'm not a swipe fan so it doesn't affect me - come to think of it, I can't think of anything that would be a deal breaker or make me delay my purchase :p But I can understand how some might have those issues.

The only thing holding me back is Verizon!

I think I prefer the black over the white, for the screen reasoning. But I do think the white looks good with the stock theme of ICS. If I had to choose between a white one and none, I would happily choose white.

When I played with the HTC in the store, I was very impressed by the gorgeous screen. It's amazing. Seeing it compared with the RAZR, though, was shocking.

I wouldn't be surprised if the HTC slightly beats out the SGN on screen, because the HTC has a higher ppi than even the iPhone. I think it's around 342 ppi.

But I doubt you'll be able to really tell in most situations.

I picked them both up (RAZR and Rezound), and compared side by side and definitely noticed from 18in away how bad the RAZR screen really was.

I have been looking at some of the unboxing videos out there and I noticed that there are headphones that come with the Gnex.

One of the things I always wished I could get for my Dinc was a media controller (non-bluetooth) that I could use with any headphones. Something like this: Amazon.com: iLuv iEA15blk Remote Adapter for Earbuds & Headphones: MP3 Players & Accessories

Have any of you noticed a remote in any of the unboxing videos or know if the Gnex supports non-bluetooth controllers through the headphones jack?

I can't find a video that shows the headphones clearly.

For those Swype users that are terrified, I was once in your boat. VERY reluctantly switched to Swiftkey X, and I've never looked back. I actually think I'm faster and more accurate now than I was with Swype (which I used since it first came out).

So both the engadget and verge mention an issue with the auto-dim, looks like a fixed percentage will be in my future.

This exactly. I was the same exact way.

for anyone that really wants swype style input, FlexT9 offers it and have found it to be as good or better than swype (at least the last version i used). i still prefer SwiftKey overall, but you will not be disappointed by Flex if you are already used to swype.

in response to something i read 8 pages ago about VZ blocking certain apps from the market, it is very easy to get around. turn on airplane mode, then turn on wi-fi, and you can download whatever you want. worked flawlessly for me with Wireless Tether on my thunderbolt.

and yes, i really did just catch up from 8 pages ago.

Does anyone know of a pic or video of a woman holding/using the Galaxy? I keep reading about how big it is (yeah, yeah, that's what she said..), but it's hard for me to envision it.
I know there are sites where you can size the screen to the phone you have, and the ratio will carry over to compare phones on the screen...but, I'm a hands on kinda girl (yes, I know, that's what she said).
