So, I'm starting to feel a little sad about the closing of this thread. Anyone else? *sigh*

So, if they go on pre-order tomorrow, do we close it then, or do we leave it open until Monday, when people buy it?

We have an "I just ordered my Gnex thread" stickied but locked. I'm thinking I should open it soon.

Perhaps, we'll have the two threads open at the same time and we'll close this on Monday, if this all is true. Anyone a bit sad? :( But happy for the phone! :)

Hey all. My first post, but I've been lurking for a week. :)
Since you all have been sharing the valuable info, I'll share what I got, although mine may not be as good of a source (hopefully not).
I just called my VZW store and according to the associate's store manager, he was told that they'll likely get the phone in December. He laughed when I asked about the Nexus, because he's anticipating it as well. He was super nice, and I could tell he was all about the GN too. I hope the rumors are true for next week.
He did say that once the release date is announced, I could pre-pay it and they'll have one for me when it arrived at their store.

I say we leave it open for a while after we all get our phones, as an open room for general discussion/thoughts on the phone.
 
quick question:

if i decide to order through amazon wireless whenever they have it available, will they honor my $50 discount that I have through verizon on my next upgrade?

the reason I ask is if not, I will order through verizon

but if they do then I will order through amazon (and wait if necessary) to save on taxes and potentially for it to be a little cheaper through them as well

I say keep it open until Monday.
 
Is anyone else somewhat bothered by having to refresh the page every so often to see new posts, and also not being able to read very many at a time because of the way forums are formatted to fit short computer screens?

I think we should continue the discussion in the IRC, but that's just me. It also helps because we can see incoming messages while we type something out.

I vote for the thread to stay open until launch day, the day where people can walk into a store and come out with one in their hands. :)

In the industry, this is properly called the Slug Definition of Launch Day, and rightly so! ;) :)
 
Question about the $50 loyalty credit. How did you guys go about getting this? I pay my bill on time 99% of the time, but for some reason last month's bill didn't go through via billpay. So am I screwed because of that to get this loyalty credit? I have been a VZW customer for about 8-9 years, so I am hoping I can get the $50 credit. But I'm unsure who to call or how to get this applied to my account.

I will be sad. This thread has been fun, and if you are able to follow along, very educational (at times :D). It really is the best way to build a forum community, we can keep coming back to the same place, seeing the same people. Its like your favorite bar.

Welcome cbd! On that note, if the original announcement was a friday afternoon news dump, why wouldn't the availability date be any different :)
 
I really hope this is true. Either receive it on Monday or have them ship it on Monday and receive it the 23rd. Now THAT is a great 30th bday present :D

I really don't know how the credit appeared on my account, but I have been due an upgrade since July

I am not sure if it was on there since then or came in the months in between because I hadn't checked it until a couple months ago
