Long time listener, first time caller.... thought I'd help post count =P

OT: Think there's any chance that a MHL adapter will be included in the box? It does look like a rather large box compared to my OG Droid and wife's iPhone4 boxes...
 
So we're almost an hour and a half away from midnight(EDT). Here's to hoping that VZ unleashes a press release and lets us know we can pre-order tomorrow.

Question is, do you pre-order tomorrow or hope that it gets released on Monday in stores and snag one there?

I'm banking on going to the store....

I asked him if he had the Nexus in and if I can stop by and play with it before the 21 and he said no. I asked him does he mean no it's not in or no I can't stop by and play with it. He said he's not allowed to let anyone see it yet. I asked if at any time prior to the 21 it will be available to see. He said to stop by on Sarurday, he expects to be given the go ahead then. I asked if he is sure it will sell on the 21 or if it is going for per-order prior to that and he said he hasn't heard anything about a preorder. He said he doesn't expect that to be necessary. I told him about my phone call to Corporate and how impressed I was with them. I asked again if he was absolutely sure it is going on sale on the 21 and he said yes.

He also said that perhaps Verizon may say something about pre-release after midnight, and to check back tomorrow.

It's larger, but keep in mind that the phone itself is larger too ;)
And based on some unboxing videos I've seen it just includes the USB cable + adapter and some headphones, and the usual manual stuff. I think the box is longer than other boxes but also shallower. I like it.
 
The two corporate stores near me are claiming they know nothing about a release date. One of the pimply faced little bastards even told me not to get my hopes up until after Black Friday. But I don't trust him.

Great question. I'm in a position to get 2 GN's so I might take the route of ordering my wifes online and get mine in-store. If it all pans out the way we are thinking at present

If the phone is not locked up I would recommend shutting down first which is very fast just in case there are any apps running in the background. A backgroud app may be in the middle of a file or database update and jerking power out from it may end up with corrupted data. A well written app should always be written with the assumption that power could go away at any time, which it could, but some apps may not be written in this way and could result in problems when trying to restart the app.

Normal phone shutdown should give any running apps a change to terminate gracefully.

Personally, I'd prefer to preorder online, no messing with lines (if there are any) or sales techniques that force you to buy add ons.
 
I feel good about getting something out of VZW tomorrow. I don't know why, just have a feeling.

OT (semi)

Anyone else watching the Tebow vs Sanchez - "our QB is worse than your QB" bowl? Geez, if VZW worked like the NFL, the hype for the GN would have it replacing Aaron Rodgers as the Packers QB at this point. Hopefully the GN can deliver though
 
When it does show up on VZ's website I wonder if it will be put ahead of the razr and iPhoines....or if it'll be halfway down the page
