I'm kind of tired. Had a really, really long day. Fortunately we were victorious in our case today at court, but I'm completely drained. I had to do a very long cross and although I get the adrenaline pumping at the time, I'm spent afterwards.

I'm going to really try to stay up til midnight EST, see if I can pre-order.

If I can, and I can get delivery by Saturday or Monday morning at the latest, I'll go that route.

I want whatever you are smoking... 8 > 5 the difference in picture quality comes down to lenses after about 5 mp though. However if the only difference is 8 and 5 mp then the camera with 8 would take better pictures...

Define "better". Higher resolution, yes. But higher resolution =/= worse overall quality, including factors like focus, low light, speed, etc.

I'm sorry guys.. I just got off the from the Verizon guy.. He called three northeast regional managers and they said the rumor is false but the release date is true...

He also said that perhaps Verizon may say something about pre-release after midnight, and to check back tomorrow.

It not just the lenses its the sensor and the software. This goes for both pro dslrs and phones. We have multiple camera experts around who participated in this debate the first time.

It would take more time to write a 8MP picture to memory, which would probably kill the "zero shutter lag" feature. You can't tell the difference between a 8MP and 5MP photo on any device or printout that you would look at it on anyway.

I LOVE my nook color (rooted, of course). When I found out about the tablet, I convinced myself I'd be happy with the regular 'ole nook. That lasted a week...

Toledo here also. I've lurked since page 100 or so, Thought I would finally say "hi". This forum is crazy (ups and downs, ins and outs....simply maddening, and addicting!) I currently am sporting a original Samsung Omnia. It is the only cell phone i have ever owned. I am 39 years old and in no way wanted a cell phone for 36 of those years. Hell, I don't like answering my home phone, much less a phone that everyone can reach me at. 99% of my cell phone use doesn't involve talking on the phone. I have been eligible for an upgrade forever. I knew I was getting the Bionic, but after all of the delays, i passed. I then had no doubt that i was getting the Galaxy sII......err....fail! I heard a whisper...."nexus Prime"..... "nexus Prime" (awesome name BTW). I've been obsessing over this Phone for 2 months. It has been a really unhealthy experience. For Gods sake Verizon, Release the Galaxy Nexus.

The Friday pre-order rumor was apparently false from his source, and his source (along with at least 5 of our other various trusted sources) have confirmed the 21st as well. If it doesn't drop on the 21st I'll be damned :/

I'm in northern Cali, which means come Monday morning, you guys in Toledo will have had HOURS to play with your phones before me! Grr

I'm in Southern Cal, and most people will have several hours on me. I won't be able to get mine until the evening (Monday's are a real pain for a Community Manager and I can't take the time off). Fortunately, I have both a Verizon Wireless Corporate store and a Verizon Plus store that will hold one for me. I hope the Plus store gets them since I can put it on My Fios account, but they don't always get phones on launch so I may have to go the corporate store route.

If I buy this phone on a new line, with a capped data plan (not a huge issue, mind you with the double data) is it possible to give my droid x to my mom which has unlimited data and swap the numbers out so she has the new plan while I get to keep the unlimited data with the new Gnex?
