Since we are talking about our stuff I figured I would get in on the action...

Desktop Stuff
AMD 8-core Bulldozer @ 4GHz, liquid cooled.
8GB DDR3 RAM
Kingston HyperX SSD (sooooooooo fast)
1TB RAID0 Array for media and other stuff.
All in an Antec Twelvehundred case.
I have a DasKeyboard Ultimate for the typing, very good keyboard.

Here are some pictures, in one there are 3 monitors, that is what my setup will look like when I get an eyefinity card. Currently I only have the 2 24" Dell Monitors set up.

Then I also have...
15" Dell Studio Laptop
HP Touchpad 16GB w/ Cyanogenmod
Beautiful 50" Plasma
Xbox 360
PS3

There is a very good reason why I don't have a roommate :D

Oh and has anything changed yet about the Galaxy Nexus coming out on Monday? I was gone for a few hours...

Damn!!!! I just drooled a little.

Ah, yeah, close enough :)

...Please tell me I wasn't the only one who read "kissed me gn" as "kissed me Galaxy Nexus"...
Guys?

...guys?

I'm still trying to catch up but AHAHAHAHAHHAHA, I thought I was the ONLY one who read it that way. Nice to see I'm not the only one.

On a sad note I don't know how I'm going to handle it when everybody on here has their Nexus next week and I can't get one until Dec 8th......

Ha anyone seen the story on droid life about someone buying nexus accessories at a Verizon? They bought the silicone cover and screen protectors.

Just noticed something pretty significant... to those of you wondering about 16 or 32 GB on Verizon:

The Verge: Galaxy Nexus Review

0:40 Joshua says 32 GB version coming to Verizon... no mention of 16 GB but it says 16/32 GB on the official Tech Specs page. Thoughts?

It'd be nice to see a 16GB on Verizon for $199. There are so many people who would love to have this phone but I think the $299 price will make a lot of people get something else.

I thought Verizon was only getting the 32GB version. I don't exactly know why I think that though maybe read it here somewhere....

yea, im not sure why people keep questioning the 16/32gb thing. the only version that sources have claimed is coming to vzw is the 32gb, all the way back to the this is my next podcast several weeks ago who said it would be the 32gb version. PEOPLE, ITS GOING TO BE THE 32GB VERSION, even the google.com/nexus page says so

Nice setup! I'm a bit disappointed though at the Bulldozer performance. Still a beast of a chip to be sure, but I was hoping for more. That said though, the company I work for doesn't make AMD boards atm, so I'm stuck with Intel anway :)

And you reminded me I forgot about consoles. PS3, Xbox 360, Wii. Other electronics that I purchased but are being used by family members : Another Laptop, 2 Netbooks.

Wait...Are we having an epeen showdown? This is horrible. :D How embarrassing. I blame BB for sure.

I couldn't agree more. Plus that would make the net cost of this phone (after selling my Thunderbolt) only $70 ;D

Pre order better NOT be tonight dammit! I've waited WAAAAAAY too long for this phone for it to go on pre order the night I'm stuck in the hospital!!!!

I just remembered something pretty significant:
Verizon Wireless Introduces The Galaxy Nexus By Samsung
This was posted on 10/21, and if Verizon chooses to release on 11/21 that will make it exactly one month since the announcement... considering the fact that the GN was announced on 10/18 and launched in the UK just shy of one month later, the 21st is suddenly looking infinitely more plausible than before!

I just felt like showing my setup, I was only trying to grow the epeen a little bit. I like the Bulldozer performance for what it cost. I am able to do 4.2GHz without changing anything but the multiplier and it's stable. I can't think of any other processor that is so easy to overclock, my i5 was a bit of a pain at times.

Oh sure blame me. Lol.

i can get in enough trouble all on my own !

I want whatever you are smoking... 8 > 5 the difference in picture quality comes down to lenses after about 5 mp though. However if the only difference is 8 and 5 mp then the camera with 8 would take better pictures...

That is not always true. As others have said, sensor, software, lens, lots of things go into "picture quality". Not just mp's.

If the cameras are EXACTLY the same except mp's, the ONLY significant inpact is how big you can blow up the picture or how far in you can zoom and crop. That is it.

Again, as others have said, this is a compromise device. With size and all the other limitations, compromises have to be made. To have shooting speed you have to have similar or faster writing speed. Higher MP's take longer to write. Cutting out the sd card makes writing to internal storage a little faster too.

Where are these pics posted? Have you ever sent a pic in a text and the phone said it had to resize it? Well, it didnt make it bigger .

At 5mp's an 8x10, 4x6, posting on facebook all look just as good as 8, 12 or 16 mp's. Again, all else being equal, as well.

In a phone or point and shoot camera, anything over 5 mp's is a waste.

Oh, and the low f stop and shutter speed is what is gonna give the nex good low light performance. Better than all the 8 mp's with higher f stop and shutter speed.

I think this aspect of the nex is one of the smartest things I have ever seen in phone/camera design.

etc, etc.

Alright, I can't make it. Goodnight all. I'll catch up in the morning, on a job site first thing, then a busy day tomorrow, so, hopefully good news comes early so I can focus.
