recently I have be-friended the manager of my local "Authorized agent" store. He has said that his store consistantly gets new phones in a day or two before their official launch. It was true of the bionic, and the razr for sure...
He has promised to hold a GN for me once they're in.he'll sell it to me early! (WooHoo!) He promised to text with news of their arrival. I'm staring at my phone trying to make the text come in... lol.
I'll let you all know if I should happen to get lucky today.

Called the first of two local stores and the rep said that at one point there had been talk of releasing it (in reference to me asking about monday and needing to put in for time off to be there at launch) but he had not heard anything else since then and doesn't know if it is pushed back or still on. He took my name and number and said he would call if he heard anything today.

The packaging is a tad too Applish for my taste, but oh well.
I like it. I can hardly wait!! I usually hate Mondays, but if the phone is released I will suddenly love it.

If you actually put in your full address you get a map showing the level of coverage in your specific area. 4G is all over the Tampa Bay area
I get killer 4G all through the area. Most of my time is spent on the western side of Clearwater and Largo. I don't get the awesome speeds I see posted by many using Speedtest.net. I'm using an unrooted TBolt. Any chance GNex will have better 4G speeds or does the hardware not matter much?
Also, anyone in Clearwater check with the corporate store on Gulf to Bay yet? I plan on stopping in this weekend. It's been hit or miss with sales reps for me there.

I'm away from the computer at the moment, but there should be a search feature next to the coarse map you mention that allows you input an address or zip code. That will bring up another map that can zoom in to street level and has signal strength gradations similar to a Doppler radar.

Yeah. The brief time I had the Razr I was getting ~19MB down in Tierra Verde. I haven't checked any of the local stores. I may venture out today around lunch. Live in Tierra Verde but work in Tampa near the stadium.

DSCR, go up to the loading bay as they're taking the boxes out. Look like you know exactly where you're going. Ask for Sam. If they say "There's no Sam here", check your phone for a few minutes while saying "He was supposed to meet me here about a job." Look casually at the boxes to see if they have any labels on them.
If someone says "Yeah, I'm Sam, what do you want?" Say, "Oh, I'm Larry, I'm here about the job." If he says quizzically "What job? What are you talking about?", take your phone out and check the text messages for a few minutes while you say things like "This is Verizon, right? I'm supposed to meet a Sam here for a warehouse job interview?" Casually look at the boxes to see if they have any labels on them.
