I've bought phones for my kids as gifts before and haven't activated them until after Christmas/birthday so I don't think that's correct. Maybe incurring the new two year contract fulfilled the "activation required" requirement.

I never worked for Verizon, but maybe I can shed some light on this. I know when I worked in retail your standard return policy always printed at the top of the receipt. Any promotional deals would be added below per corporate. So, I think that is fairly standard that the everyday policy is listed, and the promotional "policy" is listed as well.
 
My D2 is finally getting shipped back from Motorola, supposed to arrive on Tuesday. I sure hope I'm holding a GNex before then; I'm obtusely holding onto the 11/21 date. It's a race, which will I have first? Either way at least I'll be able to get rid of the confounded BlackBerry!
 
The only date in December I usually look forward to is the 25th, now it is the 8th. I am going to stick it out for the 32Gb version.
 
It is in trying times like these (December 8th release, questions on 16 or 32,etc...) that I lean heavily on the Mods. They provide us a sense of sanity in our otherwise obsessed and insane worlds. I have never been through this with a phone, and have never been this passionate/obsessed over any piece of tech, but they all have on numerous occasions. So, I just want to say thanks to OTD, EarlyMon, Steven58, and all the rest.

Man, I'm all bright and cheery this morning. Must have slept well. I should be cranky after one of my smoke alarms woke me up at 5:00 because the battery needed to be replaced.

Looks to me like the "once activated, you have 14 days" rumor is just that....

What's vague about it?

Purchases made between November 15 and December 28, 2011 may be returned or exchanged through January 15, 2012. All other provisions of Verizon Wireless

Good Morning GNexers! Well, it is morning, but not sure how good it is. Yesterday was perhaps the most brutal day yet in the quest for this phone. I hope we get some better news today, but I am afraid being the weekend, we will have to wait till Monday for some new information.

I must say, the VZW Boardroom video was fantastic. A good laugh to break up the mood around here. Oh, and I am up this early because of the kids. Crack of dawn, they are up. Coffee. Lots and lots of coffee. Thats all I can say.

Well I will try to get in my 1 post an hour today, with 19 days instead of 2-3 like we were thinking until last night, This thread is all but guaranteed to go to #1. I don't know about you, but it feels to me kind of like the booby prize
 
Today is the day we hear something definitive. Verizon will make a public a apology and give everyone who wants a Nexus $100 off for the pain and suffering we have been going through. And announce a Monday release.

Yeah, and monkeys might fly out of my butt! :D

Off to visit and spend time with my nephew. I would love to stay off here for a day, but I'm sure I'll sneak a peek.
