Wow, I've been watching some nexus 1080p video samples, and it looks terrible. The picture itself is sharp, but any little movement causes squiggly lines or whatever all over the video. Hard to explain but looks terrible.

The way I see it, if you are willing to hand your credit card to a waiter, have them walk off with it, and bring it back 5 minutes later - youre already putting a certain amount of faith in the system

Trust me I am scared to death every time that happens

I have had my bank account emptied twice now because of stolen information so I am very hesitant to try anything new.

There are browsers available that have flash built in. So for the temporary time that we don't have flash, there are other alternatives.

Thats what I do on my iPad2 -- there are a ton of work around apps, some better than others. Still, I find it annoying that it's not native, especially for a tablet. Biggest downside of the device IMHO.

That's one feature I never see myself using. Too me it just seems like a really good way for information to be stolen.

I agree, except for the fact that you can buy more chips and program them to do other things. I'd like to be able to tap my headboard to turn off ringer and turn on alarm, as well as tap my desk at work to turn off wifi, etc.

True story. My credit card has been compromised this way twice. Never from web activity or through my phone.

That's exactly how I've had my CC stolen 2x. Once in restaurant on an Airforce base and once in a pretty nice place near home...

I would actually prefer to not hand my CC over and use the NFC

It's either a jello-effect or aliasing -- I haven't watched the videos to see what sort of issue it is, but I've heard reports of that. iPhones had the same issue when they released. most likely has to do with not having a steady hand while shooting. HD video only any device, including high end prosumer and professional cameras have that sort of issue - some compensate well with software based stabilizers, but some degrade the potential quality of the video.

I'm happy whenever anyone gives us hope that the phone might be released earlier rather than later. If I have a nearby date to look forward to my hopes are high and then when that date falls through at least I have another date in the not so far distance to hope for. And then the actual release date in December inches closer and closer. Lol

yeah my dad had his identity stolen so I understand the concerns. I just wonder if NFC is actually more secure because it uses a security pin vs a credit card. but I could also see hidden NFC skimmers popping up like the current ATM card skimmers that are out there right now

Card skimming is getting very popular; I hardly ever hand over the card to my main account. Either a side account or my PayPal debit card. I keep it loaded for things like that and e-commerce sites that I'm not familiar with. Plus it gives a 1% cash back. Highly Recommended.

I like to have options :) (c'mon you've seen my user name!) iPad2, HP netbook with Ubuntu, Android phones -- got everything covered except Windows right now, but most of the software I use is Mac native (FCP, film industry stuff). I have been meaning to convert my Hackintosh into a dual boot, but I haven't had time - then I will have it all!

Isn't adobe finished producing flash for mobile?

I don't have faith in Adobe following through to make Flash work on ICS

Yes, but at least one source posted here since Friday quoted Google as saying that an ICS update for Flash was coming.

Dang me, I can't find the link just now.

Google has said that as far as they know, Adobe will support ICS:

Google Confirms no Flash for Ice Cream Sandwich, for the time being - SlashGear

That's a great idea. I might have to look into that when I reevaluate all my banking and finances at the end of the year.

A lot of people are misquoting or misunderstanding abode and what they said about flash. Here is a clipped portion of what they said,

Our future work with Flash on mobile devices will be focused on enabling Flash developers to package native apps with Adobe AIR for all the major app stores. We will no longer adapt Flash Player for mobile devices to new browser, OS version or device configurations. Some of our source code licensees may opt to continue working on and releasing their own implementations. We will continue to support the current Android and PlayBook configurations with critical bug fixes and security updates.

you could also just use the pre-paid google wallet option on the phone and then at least your max liability is limited to the amount on the card.
