It was very very widespread. My buddy also bought the Charge and is ready to throw it against a wall for the same reasons. He's looking to buy my Bionic once I get a new phone.

So chalk it up to a first gen 4G radio? Perhaps, but Motorola is pretty well known for making the best radios in these things. I think that's beyond 'anecdotal'.

I sincerely hope the GNex has all new hardware from GPS to its radio, otherwise it will be just another problem plagued 4G phone with or without ICS.

Pfft! There's no one left in NJ! ;)

They are all on I-95 (West Palm) or I-75 (Naples-Ft Myers) which is why I leave home at 5:30, drive 90 miles & get to work at 7:00. I get to visit with the I-75 mob on the way there but at 6:30 it's not so bad. :eek:

I'll be camping on the front step at opening time if things go well tonight/tomorrow morning.

So as not to get my hopes up, I called the store near work & they got nothing. The sales rep was willing and helpful but said he had not been made aware of any Gnex goings on. Calling another store connected me with someone that sounded tired of repeating the "I don't know" mantra... Not even my 90-mile-drive-to-get-there sob story seems to affect these zombies.

I work from home mostly & really don't want to drive to the office if it's not available... I need to go in one day this week because my boss is "pursuing other opportunities" and would like to do a debriefing with him but it may be worth waiting a day or two if Gnex things don't pan out tomorrow.

There's still quite a lot of time left in the day for them to make an announcement! Although I doubt they would do it late on a Sunday... more likely we'll see an announcement tomorrow.

I had no problems with the phone (other than the battery life, obviously) until one day I got sand under the power button. I had to abuse the button a little to get it to work but once I did, I quickly made the it possible to unlock the phone with the tactical button and lock the phone by swiping up (I use adw). Today, the phone decided to randomly shut off and not come back on. I tried everything I could to get it back on but couldn't. So, I went to a VZW corp store today to enroll in the "rent-a-phone" program and choose the rezound. I'll leave out the parts where I had to teach a few employees about their own phones, but I did find one guy that knew what he was talking about. He's also waiting for the Nexus but hasn't heard anything about the release. So now I'm stuck with the rezound and will probably have to return it and use an older phone until the Nexus' release. Ugh

Stopped by my local corporate store today. I struck out. Got the standard we don't know anything line. But she smiled and walked away. That confirmed my suspicions: She may or may not have known anything. That's my story for the day.

Any information is good information! Well, not exactly, but thanks for the tip; it seems that we've heard from quite a few people about employees smirking when asked... it could mean something is imminent.

Yes, GNex is only going to be available in a 16GB version, except that's false and it's really gonna be 32GB. And it's coming out tomorrow, except it's really coming out Dec 8th. Now you're current.

Right now my game plan is this -- wait till tomorrow, keep fingers crossed, but if no announcement is made, root my Charge so I have internet at my new house over the holidays (Comcast can't be there till after Thanksgiving ovbiously) and stay super busy with all the homework I'm behind on, moving, and working on a very long day in an office and on set Tuesday.
 
So guys, I'm feeling strangely optimistic about tomorrow. We might not see a release, but maybe some communication from Verizon...

I have absolutely no reason to believe this, but hey, does anyone really have any reason to believe anything about the launch of this phone? Let me dream for a little while longer :D
