I just wanted to agree with this one. When I bought my Dinc I went through BB and I didn't lose my unlimited data from my Blackberry.

I know all this is from yesterday... But I'm 34.... Today.... And was hoping for a GNex for my birthday from Verizon since I have been in a relationship with them for 8 years.

Anyway, long story short: According to my Source as well, Nexus has been delayed to 12/8
After some buttering up, my Source agreed to call me as SOON as (s)he knows the Launch Date for certain. And as soon as I know, you'll know.
Well, at least we'll far exceed the DInc thread in posts, if not views. That's small consolation for having to wait 2-1/2 more short weeks for a phone we've been following since it was first rumored for release mid-September as Prime.
Not sure who's right now: Hanette, who's saying this week? Or multiple sources citing 12/8?

Any chance of calling the guy who gave you his card and see if he is still sticking with his story, if so seeing if he can get you more info on when they will, or if they have, recieved the phone in store???

Yes, if they are already on the way to stores then release it with an OTA soon after. Product at the store will not have the new software anyway.

Happy Birthday! Sorry, Verizon is a sucky party guest, they don't bring a present, they hide the ice cream sandwiches and say they were covered in bugs, and instead try to shove razr blades down your throat.

This would assume a flaw with the OS and not a flaw with something added by VZW. I am actually quite curious VZW crapware is on this phone and Google is still handling updates. That Backup Assistant is quite low level as it comes up on a phone reset on the Ccharge as one of the initial setup things and has stuff related to it in Settings if I am not mistaken. Add to this the fact it back ups contact that has been massively reworked into People and I am guessing it needed a huge rework to even work with ICS at all and could likely have all sorts of issues if this rework wasn't being handled LONG before Nexus was even announced. This would mean it would have to have been getting worked before ICS source was finished.
Basically as soon as I saw news GN was coming with Backup Assistant I was WORRIED!!

Me too - and it's mostly advertising for the Friday. I just want to see emails from Verizon or Samsung or Google telling me this phone is available, or will be available with a solid date.
The second best thing to this is emails that start with 'you have a message from android forums' - unless I'm in trouble - then I don't want it 
Sure, I'll call him in about 20 minutes and report back
Actually, I'm on the west coast and Costco isn't open yet, so I'll call as soon as it does

I'm enjoying my rental rezound... it's a pretty nice phone.... I have the ICS launcher and kbd on it for kicks. Works well.

In a perverse way, the lack of an announcement could be interpreted as a hopeful sign, though. If V really wanted to release on the 8th, they have no reason (not that they need one) not to say so. Maybe they're not saying because there really is an issue they hope to resolve and release it sooner? Of course, it could also mean they don't even know if they'll make the 8th...
