I agree I've NEVER seen anything to contradict the above chat. It's always a CSR at a store told me xyz. Not that I think those people are lying about what their told I think their being lied to(or the CSR is just confused). Never trust anything a sale person says unless its in writing.

A little side story. I bought a Rockfostgate amp from BestBuy once, the floor rep tried telling me I would void the warranty if I installed it myself and didn't pay BestBuy 200+ to install it...(hint: this is a totally false statement)

Excellent question.

I talked to a CSR on the phone a week ago explained I was coming from AT&T but waiting for the GNex and my concern of the double data deal ending before it was released. She noted in my account they would honor the double data deal if that was the case. I am naturally skeptical so I called again today to make sure that was noted in my account and it was confirmed but then the CSR added 'you really don't have to worry the GNex will be released before that promo ends'. I of course then had to ask, 'oh I heard the promo was ending 11/30 so the Gnex is coming out before then?' her response 'chuckle, no the promo is running through December and yes the Gnex is coming out very soon but we are not allowed to say when until it is 'official''.

Sure. Like my grandma almost signing up for Carbonite because the link came pre-installed on her computer....

...but...does Verizon now include links to paid apps or something? I still don't get the link between bloat and income for Verizon. Some kind of click-thru ad revenue from "partner" apps, maybe?

I think that the VZ bean counters have been steadily looking at the sales, and they probably have a trigger set in place, something like "GNex releases once 2 million RAZRs are sold, or on December 8, whichever comes first."

It's not impossible to imagine. Especially with the Love Tunnel saying that some were pushing really hard for this week.

Unfortunately not. Ive heard everything from nov30-end of year. I am sticking with the 30th just in case and going to get DD deal... on the 30th

I could think of plenty of ways to use that much data.. streaming music practically 24/7, hot spotting Xbox Live/other devices, downloading movies 700mb+ each movie.

all that stuff can get you a couple gig in a day.
 
Back from my hiatus... glad to be in the mix again, I just needed to take a couple days off to screw my head on straight :)

Not bad, more than most of us are getting. Interesting if it can be confirmed if double data is lasting through december. I know some people are anxious about that, and with the GNex confirmed to come before January, would easy people's fears about it.

I'm with you on this.

What you're talking about:
1. Is permitted by VZW's return policy
2. Does not violate VZW's TOS
3. Is 100% legal

If someone doens't feel comfortable taking advantage of VZW's return policy or TOS, they don't have to, but I'm not buying the legal/ethical arguments against it.

I don't know.. does he really want to expose himself to a few hundred pages ago when we were all sure the phone would be coming out yesterday/today and the crushing defeat when we heard about the bugs and delays? That was a pretty rough time.
