Yeah go ahead and call him. He will know.

Rinnnnnnnnng Rinnnnnnnng Rinnnnnnnnng

"Shananigans."

"Hey compadre."

"Early! What's the haps my brother?"

"Have you heard about this whole Droid naming getting attached to the Nexus?"

(I yank the 3vo from my ear as fast as possible, still stinging from the sharp hit of a dropped phone. As I cautiously and slowly bring it back to my ear, I can hear only whoops and hollers and what sounds like a fist hitting something between bouts of laughter.)

"Well - do you have anything else to say on this?"

"Yep, Early - you can call me anytime."

Just my opinion. ;)

Well big RED wouldn't have that issue if they were not stringing us along ....

To me it is easy and personal ethics play no part in business ethics. Not to say they shouldn't but in the real world they don't. Verizon has no problem trying to milk whatever they can to increase their stock value so the ethical standard has already been set.
Ahhh, but VZW has, so now we face choices. What we choose to do in response to VZW, however maddening they might be, is a personal decision and thus, by definition, personal ethics.

I also think people put too much blame on the big red. Take iPhone 4S release for an example: press conference on the 4th, preorder 3 days later, and nationwide release 1 week after preorder. The only reason the 4S can be released 10 days after announcement if because all the testing has been completed on all 3 carriers (CDMA and GSM) BEFORE the announcement.

If one example is not enough, let's look at Razr and ReZound, both were up for preorder/sale within days of announcement. Why? Becasue all testings are complete!

IMMO, Google should get the most blame for not working with VZW to complete the testing for the LTE Nexus BEFORE announcement. They really should announce the Nexus this week, allow for preorder starting cyber Monday, and release the phone on Dec 8th. This way everyone will be happier.

I don't buy that Verizon interntionally hold off the release to promote RAZR. If they really want to do it, they would have release the rezound after Thanksgiving, not 1 business day after RAZR release.

It is totally VZW! Samsung has stated numerous times that the release date is in VZW's court

My understanding is that every phone gets tested right up to a few days (or day of) scheduled release...including the iPhone. I can't say for certain (nor can anyone whose not an insider) but it seems like this phone has been in testing for a while now.

Also you forget that the announcement was for a world wide release...not just the U.S. They're not going to delay an announcement to appease just a U.S. carrier.

Actually I propose a new thing for our group here to do. A game where we lay down our guessed dates so in the end when it does release we can see how close we all were, just for fun of course. I cant program websites to save my life, but it would need to look like a calendar with Nov and Dec dates remaining on there. People could only vote 1 time per IP address and with whatever screen name they wish to use. When you hover over a date it would say who voted for that day. Because this is a real-ish game you wouldn't be able to change your guess and it would be final when you click submit.

-anyone interested in making something like that?

BUT, I don't think that the Rezound is nearly as big a threat to Razr sales as the GNex. You put three high end smart phones with comparable specs side by side, and two are running Android 2.3 and the other is running the latest and greatest 4.0, which do you think consumers are going to pick up?

Personally, I think GNex would have crushed Razr and Rezound had it been released at the same time, based on the new OS alone....

Edit: Plus, we've had GNex testers state that testing is done and the phone is ready to go, which leads one to believe that VZW is using "ongoing testing" as an excuse for what is, in reality, a marketing ploy designed to maximize profit margins.

That's what I thought he'd say. Hope he didn't break his phone... If it was a RAZR its done for ;)

Initially my reasoning was due to returns, then Verizon picked up the extended return policy (which truly shredded my theory), but alas I'm hanging on to it. It also puts their "it will be out in November" thing in play but still lets it be an official December release in stores.

The post above about a CyberMonday release makes sense to me too.

All in all . . . no reasoning, not in THIS thread.
Return policy didn't start up till the 15th. Your theory still applies.

Which is why it makes even more sense to wait till the 29th when rezound launch day orders placed on the 14th would have their 14 days expire.

A poll could also be added here if Steven wanted

Last night I ported over to MIUI on my DX. Finally stepping out of CM7 on .595. Im loving the speed of my DX now, all i have to do is decide if i can wait for Costco to get the Nexus or if i want it on release day

But like us who knows when the LTE shipments would come in. Im sure it would be different than the 25th for the GSM

I just called them, and they don't know when their getting the 32G, and I'm not shelling out that kind of dough and cut my current storage in half. I'll pay another hundred to get a 32...

Same thing with Exspansys....preorder, no ship date on the 32's.

Actually A poll would work but it would be very long with all the dates on it. Dunno. My idea with a visual calendar was cleaner, but a long poll with dates would probably be easier.

The one thing I didn't like about Miui when I tried it last was the fact all your apps were jumbled around they were sorted alphabetically did they change that?

T-Mobile to launch Samsung Galaxy S II in white this holiday season | The Verge

mighty sexy and with t-mobile's very fast HSPA+ and the battery savings you get from HSPA+ over LTE it looks mighty tempting...
