You may not be 'settling' with either the Rezound or Razr. With both scheduled to get ICS early next year, you may well wind up with better hardware and the same OS the Gnex will have. If I were a betting man, I'd bet in the end the Razr and Rezound hardware will be better than the Gnex.

We shall see.

The only real issue I have with the RAZR is the battery life. Other than that, I have to say I kind of like it. There is no way I could deal with having to charge my phone during the day, every day in addition to a full charge over night. So far, that has been the case for me, but I got it with full intention of returning it for the GNEX when it comes out.

I can't speak for the ReZound, but it looked nice in the store. I think the screen is a bit smaller, but it was really fast. I don't think it will stand up to the GNEX, but it certainly isn't a phone I would say someone is settling for, like the Pantech Breakout, lol.

Anybody disappointed in the camera? I'm just really curious to know why Google didn't let Samsung put their SGSII 8mp camera in the Nexus. The Galaxy S2 came out around 7 months ago, why put a lesser camera in a newer phone? This is honestly the only thing that's making me consider waiting to see whats in store at CES.

More pixels don't always translate to better pictures. In fact, sometimes the reverse is true.

In the world of consumer/prosumer video cameras, Canon moved to sensors with 'only' 1920x1080 pixels. What did they wind up with? By most pro reviewers, the best picture quality out there. :)

I'm not interested in a Sensed/Blurred ICS experience. 2 years on a skinned OS is enough for me.

The concept of "better" is a folly.

Gmornin nexicans. Hopefully good news comes down the pipe today.. those quadrant scores were quite impressive yesterday.

Just received an email from Bell.
Phone is set to drop in Canada on Dec 8th.

But because I am a new user, I can't post links. O well. You can find it yourself on the bell website I guess!

"Pre-order Galaxy Nexus from Google - the first superphone with Android 4.0."
"Available December 8 - only from Bell"

Cheers!

Vzw customers better enjoy this pure Google phone while its around... It may be the last one we ever see....

Good morning everybody! here's to another day of hoping and absolutely no productivity!!

Hoping? Its the day before thanksgiving, and we are still waiting for our phone. Absolutely no productivity is a certainty.

edit: chalk it up to not enough sleep, I realize that is exactly what you were saying... haha.

My understanding was that a lower megapixel was a necessity for the zero shutter time feature, which in my opinion could be well worth the trade off. Zero shutter time is one of the features I am looking forward to most. And as it's already been said, megapixels aren't everything. My Incredible has an 8 megapixel camera, and the pictures I've seen from the Nexus far exceed the pictures I take in quality. I could be wrong though.

I have 4 wee ones, and those little buttheads (and I mean that in THE most loving way) make zero lag a neccesity. I will say that I've gotten rather good at learning my DX shutter and how to predict a "moment". Intermittent app lag can affect that tho.

The shots I've seen so far make it clear to me why my determination to hold off for this beast will not waver. Thanks to all who keep this thread well stocked with good material!

Haha, yeah three for me, and my T'bolt camera is just about worthless when trying to take pics of them. I am very excited about the camera on this phone.

I thought google directly supports nexus phones

They do (or have always in the past). But they have never allowed a carrier to put apps on it before. There is some worry how that will affect the update rollout, namely, if Verizon is going to demand a chance to test and verify their apps are still fully operative.

Good morning G'nexers! I will start your morning off with some even better news.

Paul (at MoDaCo) has figured out USB mounting on the device. I will post details when he updates, but screenshots are below. Yes, the second one he has a wireless mouse connected to the device!!

Excellent!! Now can we connect a USB flash drive with this method?

I try to stay away from these forums but I always find myself back. It kind of makes the wait sort of agonizing. Anyways...

I'm not sure who said it but I thought one of the numerous "sources" said that updates will still come directly from Google. That doesn't seem to jive with Verizon's current update process (don't they require all updates go through them first?). Regardless of how it'll actually be handled, I think (and hope) that it'll be handled much more quickly than the 6 month turn around other phones experience with software updates.

Morning Sexy Nexies, thinking about going the "Import" route. Has anyone ever used exansys-usa.com. They say they have it in stock, and the price is pretty spendy, but Verizon launching a month after has left a bad taste in my mouth. If I buy it T-Mobile, I can make up the cost in the cost of the service plan.

Other than Verizon's network being better, what's a good reason not to do this?
