Really?

Like the general acknowledgement that Motorola has the best radios?
Like history has shown us the Samsungs have the worst GPS thus far?

I don't think that's 'folly' in the least. I've been through that 'folly'.

Exclude the DROID Bionic from that equation..

You could still see the navigation buttons while the video was playing, I thought they are supposed to disappear?

I think thats something to look for in app specifically designed for ICS. Right now apps don't know that they have to "hide" the soft navigation buttons.

Unfortunately, camera tests/comparisons are perhaps open to the most subjective testing possible. I am not implying that it is done, but by changing a setting or two, you can easily make one camera the winner in a comparison test, and make the other look like crap.

For example, take these two comparisons

In The Verge, the low light from the GNex looks brighter, and more true to color than the iPhone.

In the CNET review here, the low light looks horrific on the GNex compared to the iPhone.

I suspect if the GNex had been properly set for the indoor lighting, it would have looked much better. All the indoor shots from the GNex are too yellow and I'd bet had they changed the WB setting all would have been well.

I agree, but we already know CNET has it out for the GNex, from their less than stellar review. ESPECIALLY when you see how positive BGR was of all places. I know it is very harsh to question a site's journalistic integrity, but it had to go through a couple of reviews, didn't someone realize the WB was set wrong in the GNex indoor pics? Also the exposure was way off in the bamboo pic as well. I just have to wonder if that was accidental.

I'm getting a little concerned about the GPS in GNex. I've never owned a Samsung phone and I'm not reading flattering things about their GPS' reputation.

Sorry if this is one of those "not this again" topics. I haven't found any actual user experiences on the GPS. For that matter, no one is posting in the GNex user experience thread Steven unlocked the other day.

Edit: It's the GNex First Impressions thread.

Interestingly I went from the Samsung Charge (don't ask) to the Bionic and the reception was worlds better! I just haven't had any issues other than a total of 2 spontaneous reboots. 3G>4G handoff was always good and battery life with the extended battery was superb.

My current Rezound is doing about as well as the Bionic was, but with better battery life from the stock battery. We should all be so lucky to get the Nexus with a camera like the Rezound has. ;)

OTD has nothing but good things to say about hers and her family's phones which are Samsung.

Sorry, two really dumb questions...been lurking for awhile to keep my Nexus desires in check:
1. Why is it that when I click on the "More infos" link on the very first post in this thread (and this has happened other times) that it just seems to direct me to an almost random (I know it isn't random) page in this thread? I would think it would link me direct to the comment that provided said information on the subject highlighted on the first post. Not trying to be a jerk...I truly appreciate the OPs (and everyone else's) efforts in providing the latest info. I just often see that he'll post a link to the latest info or something and it'll just be the last page in this thread or something rather than the link right to the post (like the letter going out to Verizon).
2. The picture depicting the Nexus as the fastest smartphone...what is that picture depicting...browser speed? CPU speed? It doesn't say and I couldn't find a source.
Sorry if I've missing something terribly obvious...and I truly do appreciate the EVERYONE'S vigilance for the latest news.
I seriously check this thread like 5 times a day.

I think the elephant in the room, for me, about this phone is: how do I navigate all the flash on the internet without flash? Will this phone frustrate me. Even my own website is written with flash, in fact. I won't be able to fully view my own site?

I really really want a GNex, however the longer the wait the better the ReZound looks... a couple more weeks, a couple more weeks... ugh.

I agree with Phases on this one. They said it's coming, and the longer Verizon delays the release of the phone the more likely it is that we'll have flash on release day. :)

Good morning, fellow Nexicons!

And how is everyone?

I see Phases has given in to the dark side of the Force and has been sucked into our little insane asylum.

Good decision, Phases. The more you resist, the more painful you make it for yourself. Just give yourself over. Once you decide to post a funny picture in response to a comment, the circle shall be complete.

Ahahahahahahahahahaahahahahahahahahahaahaha!!!!

Interesting news. I was watching Morning Joe on MSNBC this morning before work. As they went to break, they advertised having their own Android app, showing examples of the phones it could be downloaded to. One of the phones, which was actually labeled as such, was the Galaxy Nexus! :D

Somehow the radio issues didn't affect all the Bionics but it affected enough to get Moto to release an official list of bug fixes for their next update. \

I will say my DROID Xs radio has the Bionic beat, also as far as GPS the DROID 3 was pretty crap-tastic when it came to GPS. This is side by side with a DROID 3 and a OG DROID
